One of the best things Nintendo hardware has going for it is that it's the only way you can play Nintendo software, so it's hardly surprising that those popular characters like Mario and Link have been popping up even in non-Nintendo games for the new Wii U. We've already seen the various Nintendo costumes in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and now we've got some of the characters themselves in cute Scribblenauts form. These videos, showing Mario and Link in Scribblenauts Unlimited, are only short, but the very nature of the game means that when you're playing it you'll be able to summon either character – or Bowser, Ganondorf, and others – at any time.
Scribblenauts Unlimited features the same protagonist as the previous games in the series, Maxwell, and the goal is still to collect starites, which you do by solving puzzles, though there is a bit more of a plot this time around involving Maxwell's sister. You play the game by typing in the names of whatever objects you can think of that might be useful, which summons them to the game. Like in Super Scribblenauts, you can also modify those objects with adjectives. Unlimited also allows you to create customised objects and share them online. The game was a launch title for the Wii U in the U.S., but there doesn't seem to be any official word on when it'll be available in the U.K.
