EA Announces Release Date for FIFA 18; Cristiano Ronaldo Named the Cover Athlete

June 5, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

Expect to hear more about the title at E3 2017!

EA has unveiled today that all-time top scorer of Real Madrid C.F., Cristiano Ronaldo, will be this year’s FIFA cover athlete.

FIFA 18 is officially set to release worldwide on September 29 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS3, and Xbox 360.

In addition to naming Ronaldo as this year’s cover athlete and announcing the game’s release date, EA launched a new trailer showcasing some in-game footage of the upcoming title. Watch it in full down below:

“The world’s best player has helped fuel the biggest leap forward on the pitch that we’ve ever delivered,” said Aaron McHardy, Senior Producer for EA SPORTS FIFA. “We are extremely excited to partner with Cristiano – working with him we learned a lot about his unique play style and what makes him so special. His passion, energy and global fanbase make him the perfect ambassador for FIFA 18.”

FIFA 18 fans can get their hands on the full game three days before launch day if they pre-order the game; start playing on Tuesday, September 26. EA Access and Origin Access members can also enjoy up to 10 hours of play time starting Thursday, September 21 as part of the EA Access and Origin Access Play First Trial.

EA promises fans that they will see plenty more of FIFA 18 at this year’s E3. Are you excited to get your hands on FIFA 18? Happy with Ronaldo as the cover athlete? Let us know in the comments below!
