The Borderlands world is full of corporations vying for control over Pandora, and much of the second game is dedicated to Hyperion’s expansion over the planet and Handsome Jack’s attempts to unearth an ancient alien for his nefarious purposes.
Borderlands 2 is being expanded with the release of a second DLC (the first being Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty) called Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, which has players visiting the Badass Crater and interacting with Mr. Torgue, an unhinged sports commentator-like character with a flare for explosions. He’s like a commentator in a Monster Truck ad, or like Randy Savage, as Kotaku notes.
Torgue develops his weapons to be used before a live audience, and the players will see themselves as a part of his insane arena. As you can imagine, the game will very much like Mad Moxxi’s DLC for the first game. However, unlike the first game, all the other monsters and participants will also be battling each other for dominance so you won’t be the only one in there with a target painted on your back.
Gearbox has released a trio of screenshots to accompany the announcement. It’s set to drop later this month.
