Zynga Purchases Actual Game Maker. No One Notices

November 13, 2012 by Nick Lalone

Mafia Wars, Brought to you by NVIDIA….

Following months of layoffs, closings, money loss, and game retirement, Zynga has begun to recalibrate their assets in an effort to change their model to a more aggressive game maker. Mafia Wars, Draw Something, and Words with Friend owner Zynga purchased Golden Arrow developer November Software. Zynga hopes that this purchase will allow them to get past their "fad" game design and enter the, "mid-core" market.

November Software developed Golden Arrow in conjunction with NVIDIA. November is made up of a variety of former EA and LucasArts employees. They aimed to bring "console quality" games to the tablet market.

In addition to this acquisition, Zynga also announced that they had partnered with a British targeted, Gibralter located real-money gambling website named bwin.com.
