For those looking forward to more Rainbow Six games, you can breathe a sigh of relief as Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that Rainbow 6: Patriots is still under development.
Announced late last year, Rainbow Six: Patriots has been under the radar since it's official unveiling. While Guillemot didn't confirm a release window, he did note, "The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it's really looking good." and adds, that when it comes, "it will surprise the industry."
Following this, Guillemot was asked if Rainbow Six: Patriots could be a next-generation game. Although Guillemot didn't confirm it, he did say that "there's a good chance it can be."
The last major entry in the Rainbow Six franchise was Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 which was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2008. To date, Rainbow Six: Patriots has no definite release window but is still pegged for a 2013 release year.
Is there room for one more military shooter for fans to buy? Of course, Rainbow Six is not your typical set-piece shooter and even it's multiplayer is not your standard Call of Duty fare. It aims to be a more deliberate, and methodical shooter that rewards players who plan their attacks. Rushing in like headless chickens will most assuredly, get you killed.
Anyone still think Rainbow Six: Patriots is still due for release for this gen or is it a lock to be a launch game for next-gen platforms?
