As promised last week, Team Meat – made up of Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, the duo behind Super Meat Boy – has released another teaser image on its website of upcoming game Mew-Genics. Frank joins last week's Mr. Tinkles and Dr. Beanies, though it's fair to say he is a little more strange-looking. With those scars, it's possible Frank is based on Frankenstein's monster, though besides the fact that “Mew-Genics” sounds a little like eugenics (which is to do with controlling the genetic makeup of humanity) there's really not much else to base that on.
Besides “meet Frank”, the only comment on the site is “he has head problems…” so we're still totally in the dark. And we still know very little about the game itself, aside from that it's “a game about cats… kinda” and “by far the strangest project” McMillen has ever worked on.
Team Meat has said it will release teasers on a weekly basis, so check back here next Monday for the latest news, and probably another new character to puzzle over. Are you intrigued, or – despite the overwhelming popularity of Super Meat Boy and whatever that might say about Team Meat – do you need more than a few character images before you're even mildly interested?
