Alan Wake Franchise Being Removed Digitally Due to Music License Expiration; Major Sale on the Entire Franchise Available Now

May 13, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

Alan Wake is heavily discounted this weekend, don’t miss out!

Remedy Entertainment has announced that due to an expiring music license, their hit game – Alan Wake – will be getting removed from digital stores on May 15.

Alan Wake physical editions will still be sold, and if you have previously bought a digital copy of the game it will still work. This will only affect users who want to buy the game digitally after May 15. The game will be taken off both Steam and Xbox Live.

Check out the tweet Remedy sent out:

It’s not all bad news though, as Remedy has announced a new Sunset sale on the entire franchise on Steam. Both games – Alan Wake and Alan Wakes American Nightmare – will be on sale this weekend with a huge discounted price tag. Pick up both titles for about $4 bucks.

Even though the game released way back in 2010 for the Xbox 360, Alan Wake serves to be one of the greatest games on the last gen systems because of its immersive storytelling, and its horror-like gameplay.

With the news of Alan Wake being removed from digital stores, will you be picking up the game this weekend? Let us know in the comments below!
