The development studio Three Fields Entertainment was founded by the creators of a well-beloved racing franchise, Burnout. Within that series, an iconic game mode tasked players with reckless driving and ultimately causing as much destruction as possible. Since then, the developers who created the title went on to discover a new spiritual successor to the infamous crash mode, which is known as Danger Zone.
Within Danger Zone, players will be going through crashes rather than being a separate mode offered in a racing title. Speaking to Eurogamer, Fiona Sperry and Alex War, founders of Three Fields Entertainment, shared why Danger Zone isn’t a racing title similar to Burnout.
“We started that a year ago. We did a couple of weeks. Obviously a fully-fledged racing game requires a lot more artwork, and that costs money. Making a big game, making an open-world game, it costs money and it’s money we don’t have. We’d need backing on that.”
Within Danger Zone, players will have twenty single-player crash testing levels with the end goal asking players to create as much destruction as possible. Although, for now, the game is specifically only meant for single-players, but that could change post-launch. Apparently, if the developers find the video game does well with an audience then a multiplayer aspect will be added in.
For now, gamers can expect Danger Zone sometime this May for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. Take a look at some of the images for Danger Zone within the game gallery down below.
