Black Ops 2’s vision of the future is no less terrifying than its predecessor’s vision of the past—as depicted in the original Nuketown. The map will be making a comeback in the upcoming game in the form of Nuketown 2025. It will see a variety of changes that will incorporate all of the new multiplayer elements in Black Ops 2.
Treyarch has just released a video trailer of Nuketown 2025, giving us our first ever look at the map, which has been teased throughout the game’s marketing in recent months. It bears distinct similarities to the original Nuketown, but there are enough changes in there to keep it from being more than just a clone of the original map.

In addition to the video, Treyarch has announced its plans via its Facebook page to release a “grand tour” of the map tomorrow, as we detailed in this earlier write-up.
It’s hard to say whether this version of the map will be as popular as the first, which promoted pitched battles due to its relatively small size. Given the trailer, however, it looks like we can certainly expect it.
Those who pre-order the game will receive the Nuketown 2025 bonus map upon the game’s release on November 13, 2012. Black Ops 2 will be available on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will also be released for the Wii U on November 18 as one of the console’s launch titles.
Additionally, those who play the game early will be able to participate in a double XP launch weekend from November 16 to November 18.
