Crytek is offering a rather nifty Crysis 3 pre-order bonus promo. Instead of giving people who pre-order extra skins or other useless doodads, they''ve now announced that "for a limited time," they'll be giving away a digital copy of Crysis 1 as a pre-order incentive.
This promo applies to all platforms, but keep in mind that the Crysis 1 digital copy will be available on the same platform you pre-ordered Crysis 3. So if you pre-order Crysis 3 on PC, don't expect to get a Crysis 1 digital code for the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.
Here's the official announcement trailer of the announcement.
Not familiar with Crysis 1? Here's the official description from Crytek:
Lauded by GameSpot as “One of the greatest shooters ever made” and universally hailed upon its release for breaking new ground with jaw-dropping visuals, industry leading technology and sandbox gameplay, Crysis thrusts players into the middle of a global conflict between the U.S. and North Korea over a mysterious artifact that turns out to be extraterrestrial in nature. In Crysis, players are outfitted with the series signature Nanosuit and an arsenal of fully customizable weapons that provide a wide array of options not only for the games story missions but also every single objective and individual encounter.
Not bad, Crytek, not bad at all. I do admit, I prefer my pre-order bonuses be actual games instead of fluff stuff that no one will ever use. Of course, if you already have the said game — in this case, Crysis 1 — then you're a bit out of luck. I suggest just giving it out to a friend who haven't played it before.
Crysis 3 is set for release on February 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
