While THQ hasn't had a very good year so far, it seems Darksiders 2's not helping much either. According to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter, the game is struggling to reach the two million sales milestone it needs for THQ to break even.
Currently the game is sitting at one million units sold; but sadly, that's not enough. Pachter claims, "Darksiders II's performance and a history of game delays and cancelations leaves us skeptical that THQ can successfully execute its turnaround strategy, which centers on a streamlined release slate,"
Not all is lost though as Pachter also thinks that THQ will beat analyst estimates of around $75-85 million in revenues when the company reports its second-quarter earnings on November 5. This is even with the fact that their software sales during July to September were down year-over-year by 18 percent according to NPD.
Darksiders 2 was developed by Vigil Games and is sitting at a healthy 84 average on Metacritic. THQ has a chance to reinvigorate sales when the game gets another launch on the Wii U later in November.
