Over the weekend, we reported on how Assassin's Creed 3 will be joining the micro-transactions bandwagon. Seeing as most people flinch when they hear micro-transactions when it comes to games, Ubisoft has now given their official statement regarding the matter.
The Erudito Credits are a new way of unlocking content in Assassin's Creed 3's Multiplayer…People who have little time can use Erudito Credits as a shortcut to unlock game items from level 1 to 50 (excluding Prestige levels and relics rewards). This is not mandatory, all items sold in Erudito Credits are also available in Abstergo Credits and can be unlocked through normal progression like previous years.
As expected, these Erudito Packs are for Assassin's Creed 3's multiplayer. While Mass Effect 3 employs a similar structure in its multiplayer component, it's worth noting that for ME3, it doesn't affect other people as much since it's a cooperative "Horde" mode-like affair.
For Assassin's Creed 3 however, it will matter a lot more since its multiplayer is competitive-based and one can argue that people can "buy" their way to victory.
Do you think this is a slippery slope for Assassin's Creed 3 and Ubisoft? Or are people making too much out of this?
For those who already bought Assassin's Creed 3, how's the multiplayer? Do you think this will be a problem?
