Yup, you heard right. Nintendo is offering between $100 and $20,000 if you can hack their latest console, The Switch.
Nintendo is offering this deal to any techies out there who can find exploits so that the company can increase the security on the Switch and prevent piracy, cheating, hacking, and inappropriate content out of circulation.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time a corporation has reached out to fellow hackers to return to the light-side, massive companies like Slack and Uber make use of the program HackerOne to seek out experienced hackers to fish out vulnerabilities on their infrastructure. Nintendo is just one of the hundreds of other companies to also make use the program.
Considering The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, was emulated onto PC just hours after launch it comes as no surprise to why Nintendo has sent out this request to prevent any future malicious hacks especially since a similar bounty program was initiated when the 3DS launched.
So if you are a veteran hacker, give Nintendo a shout and maybe you’ll be able to snag a tasty bounty of $20,000.
