Ubisoft's big game for 2012, Assassin's Creed 3, is but a day away from release and to remind us of that, the publisher has released the game's launch trailer right on schedule.
What's interesting here is that Assassin's Creed 3's launch trailer has a little more meat in its bones compared to other games' launch trailers. Yes, there's the usual montage of scenes that showcases how much of a badass Connor is, but more importantly, we see what motivates him to be an assassin. I don't think we're diving into spoiler territory here when I say it's because a British asshat murdered his village and everyone he cared for and now he wants revenge.
Connor isn't going to stop with the man that killed his family…not until he gets justice for all — or at least, that's what he postulates. While Assassin's Creed 3's story is fiction, Ubisoft is using real world locales and people in it. Not only that but they even want the player to "go deep into the untold history that didn't only create a new nation, but a new Master Assassin. Experience the hidden truth behind one of history's most influential wars — the American Revolution." Yeah, I think AC3's story will be good, but I wouldn't suggest you answer "Connor Kenway" in your history lesson once the subject encroaches the American Revolution.
Do you think Assassin's Creed 3 will live up to the hype or will it suffer from franchise fatigue when it releases tomorrow for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
