The multiplayer mode in Black Ops 2 is undergoing a massive overhaul over its previous iterations in the Call of Duty series, and one of the many things to see big changes to its functionality is the Ghost perk.
This time around, the Ghost perk will only hide you from enemy UAVs and nothing else. Any other enemy scorestreak, including attack dogs and other AI-controlled score streaks, will not be affected by the Ghost perk so you won’t be rendered invulnerable or invisible to their attacks.
Additionally, Ghost will only work while you’re moving and not while you’re stationary. Stand still and you’ll get spotted as a red dot on the enemy’s radar while the UAV is in play. The developers have made it so you won’t be able to camp with the Ghost perk enabled, and the perk will work differently for each weapon class. For it to be effective with an SMG, you’ll have to move around a lot, while assault rifles won’t require you to move around as much for the perk to be effective.
In spite of the changes to prevent camping, the Ghost perk will be enabled while you’re planting or defusing a bomb, so you won’t have to move around for it to work.
Additionally, you’ll remain invisible while you’re using a player-controlled score streak like the RC-XD, the Dragonfire, the AGR, the VTOL Warship, and the Lodestar so you needn’t worry about being detected with the Ghost perk while you’re in control of those scorestreaks.
Black Ops 2 is set for release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 13. Be sure to pre-order it ahead of time to acquire the Nuketown 2025 exclusive.
