In preparation for the death of everyone this week, Dark Souls patch 1.06 went live today for Xbox 360 and PS3. Artorias of the Abyss, the content included with the "Prepare to Die" edition of Dark Souls for PC, will be released on October 24th.
Artorias of the Abyss answers a few questions about the Dark Souls mythos. Some of these include, What happened to Artorias when he went to the Abyss to kill the 4 Kings? Do we know what happened to Pygmy? What was Oolacile like?
In tragic news, patch 1.06 closes the bottomless box glitch that allowed for new characters to obtain everything in the bottomless box of another character. So, if you were a player who enjoyed this glitch, remember to fill up your character list before patching!
It is unfortunate that the higher resolution patches that fans wrote for the PC version will not be included with the console edition. If you are curious what else the PC version allowed users to do, check out this collection of characters with their helmets removed.
