Dragon Age 3: Inquisition is poised to revive the tale of the Grey Wardens and their fight against the Darkspawn, and the covers are being pulled back by the game's developers. To that end, BioWare recently held a panel at the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo to reveal some new details about the upcoming RPG.
Speaking to the audience, the game's cinematic director John Perry said that the pre-production on Dragon Age 3 has been longer than any other project he's taken on at the company, suggesting that more work is being done with Dragon Age 3 than any of the studio's previous games, including the Mass Effect series.
Mike Laidlaw, the game's creative director, echoed Perry's sentiments by revealing that a single level in Dragon Age 3 is "as big as all of Dragon Age 2's levels." He also added that the player characters can only be human, but that player customization is going to be much broader than that of Dragon Age: Origins, with players also being able to customize their companions in addition to their player characters.
The developers reiterated that the new game would be built on DICE's powerful Frostbite 2 engine, which currently powers Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Battlefield 3.
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition is set for a 2013 release.
