The anime-esqe Ninja Gaiden spinoff Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z that was shown at the Tokyo Game Show has surprised everyone. Job listings for developer Spark Unlimited imply that the game will be a third-person shooter on next gen consoles. It will also feature some sort of multiplayer capability.
Just how was this figured out? Well, according to IGN the senior designer listing details "tuning for a third-person action shooter on next generation consoles" in the job description. They're also very specifically asking for a multiplayer engineer and AI engineer to develop network code for "multiplayer/co-op functionality."
IGN inquired with Tecmo Koei to confirm the listings, but unsurprisingly did not receive any comment back. You can check out the trailer for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z if you missed it or want to refresh your memory.
