This morning I saw a press release for an upcoming game called Guns and Robots. According to the press release:
"GUNS and ROBOTS is a skill-based, teamwork-focused online shooter, featuring annihilating customizable robots, fighting in different arenas. The game combines fun art with a robust variety of weapons and weapon enchantments."
From the screenshots, this game reminded me a lot of a cross between Battletech and RoboRally. As a customizeable game that is free to play, I am sure that many micro-transactions are in this game's future. However, the demo video and style really seems like this game might be worth a try.
The game's developers are from the studio called "Masthead Studios." Gamers may remember this Bulgarian company from the failed MMORPG Earthrise or more recently, the company that had wanted to design an MMO that took place within the Fallout world. The work on that game failed due to a copyright infringement lawsuit filed against their work by Bethesda Softworks.
With such epic failures under their name, Masthead Studios is bound to be due for a hit and this game is looking like it will be fun.
