2017 is here and we’re already excited about all the upcoming video games already announced to launch or expected to release at some throughout the year. State of Decay 2

There are not too many details released for State of Decay 2 as of right now. We do know that this video game is a sequel to the 2013 State of Decay and will focus heavily on cooperative gameplay with up to three other players.
Overall, State of Decay 2 is a zombie-survival game that lets players have their own unique story. While battling zombies is very much a key aspect of the upcoming title release, players are encouraged to work together in setting up their own community that’s able to successfully take out the undead threat.
Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 7 is generating quite a bit of buzz. This upcoming installment is changing a few things up such as players will be going through the game in a first-person perspective. Likewise, Capcom seems to be going back to the original tone of the Resident Evil franchise with less action-oriented moments and a more survival-horror atmosphere.
The game is set to take place four years after the events of Resident Evil 6, in a fictional city of Dulvey, Louisiana. Players will be taking on the role of Ethan, a man who is searching for his missing wife, where his investigation leads him to a derelict plantation mansion, home of the oddity Baker family.
It seems that Ethan will have to escape from the cannibalistic Baker family while also searching for clues of his missing wife. To give players an extra little scare, Capcom is adding PlayStation VR functionality to the game.
Halo Wars 2

The sequel to Halo Wars, Halo War 2, will be launching in February of 2017. With this installment of the Halo franchise, Halo Wars 2 takes place nearly thirty years after the events of Halo Wars and shortly after the events of Halo 5: Guardians.
With the Spirt of Fire declared lost with all hands, the crew emerges from their cryosleep at the Ark. It’s here that the crew runs into a new Alien faction known as the Banished, a group that broke away from the Covenant after their demise.
Mass Effect: Andromeda

The next installment of the Mass Effect franchise will be launching during the second quarter of 2017. From what we know so far, Mass Effect: Andromeda will be taking place hundreds of years after the events of Mass Effect 3.
Set within the Andromeda Galaxy, players take on the role of an N7 Special Forces soldier who is set to be a Pathfinder. These Pathfinders are an operative task force that is in charge of discovering new planets for the Human species to colonize.
Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves is all about being a pirate with a crew. Scavenge for treasure, loot islands, take to the open sea, and battle against other crews that are unfortunate enough to come across your pathway.
User-generated content is a big feature for Sea of Thieves as well. Players will be able to craft their own custom stories using the various in-game tools. From there, these campaigns can be uploaded online for other players to download and enjoy on their own.
Forza Motorsport 7

Not too many details have been released for the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 video game though it will likely follow the past installment trend and release around Autumn of 2017. The video game series has been a staple for Microsoft’s console and PC platform, with the seventh main number entry likely to bring in new courses , vehicles, and game modes.
With Forza Motorsport 6 offering over four hundred cars and seventy hours of gameplay, we’re interested in seeing how the development team will top their expansive catalog next year. Likewise, with Forza Motorsport 6 first revealed at the North American International Auto Show in January of 2015, Microsoft may also follow suite with their own event at next year’s auto show expo.
Outlast 2

Outlast 2, by development team Red Barrels, will follow similar game mechanics of the first installment to the survival-horror franchise. Players this time around will take on the role of Blake Langermann, an investigative journalist, and cameraman, alongside his wife, as they uncover clues to a murder of a pregnant woman.
In their journey, Blake and his wife become separated after their helicopter crashes. Much like the past installment, players are not suited with the ability to combat the enemy forces. Instead, our protagonist will mostly have to hide and run away from any danger.
However, since Blake is already a cameraman, he is equipped with a more advanced camera that will offer clearer footage, zoom, an audio detection system, and of course night vision. Gamers will still have to hunt down new batteries for the camera when it drains from night vision use just as they did before.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be the tenth installment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise. This time around, the game is set in Bolivia, where the rising power of drug cartels has become a concern to the United States Government.
To deal with this concern, the Government has sent in an elite special operations unit called “the Ghosts” to destroy the cartels. Unlike previous installments within the franchise, players will be set in an open world environment.
For Honor

For Honor is an upcoming action hack-and-slash type video game. Within this For Honor world, factions of medieval knights, samurai, and Vikings meet up on a battlefield in one epic battle.
This being more of a fighting-based video game, there is a big emphasis on multiplayer where friends can jump online and battle in a series of modes such as brawls, skirmishes, and elimination type matches.
Crackdown 3

Nearly a decade after the release of Crackdown 2, Reagent Games is bringing out the third installment, Crackdown 3. The video game doesn’t have too many details available quite yet though we do know that there is a big emphasis on destruction. Players will be able to destroy practically anything within the video game thanks to a Microsoft cloud computing platform known as Microsoft Azure.
Cuphead

Cuphead is an upcoming run and gun style platformer by development team Studio MDHR. The story revolves around a character known as Cuphead who loses a bet against the devil and in order to repay that debt, he must take out a series of bosses.
Really, Cuphead is gaining all kinds of attention online simply due to its design. Studio MDHR has developed Cuphead in order to look similar to a 1930s cartoon. The visuals look incredible and the gameplay seems relatively smooth though we won’t know until it releases at some point in 2017.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole

South Park is back with South Park: The Fractured But Whole. The game takes place after the events of South Park: The Stick of Truth where the children of South Park takes on the role of superheroes. However, when a fallout between the children begins, two factions are made creating a civil war between two superhero groups.
Red Dead Redemption 2

So far there is nothing we know officially about Red Dead Redemption 2 other than Rockstar Games is currently working on the third entry to the Red Dead series.
With Red Dead Redemption being a critically acclaimed hit and fans eager to continue with the Grand Theft Auto style gameplay set in the old west, Rockstar Games isn’t revealing just what all they have planned for their next entry quite yet. One thing is for sure, we certainly hope that Rockstar Games will at least offer PC gamers a chance to pick up the video game installment.
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite

Much like the past installments of the franchise, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is a fighting game where players can compete with characters from both the Capcom and Marvel Comics universe. While most of the features and aspects will be brought over to the upcoming installment, Capcom did reveal that the ability to call in assist attacks from off-screen team members will be dropped.

One of the more surprising popular aspects from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was the card game Gwent. This was a small in-game time killer in which players can battle NPCs in a strategy card type game. From developers Capybara Games comes Below. There’s not too much information released about the upcoming video game yet, but we do know that his is a top-down roguelike adventure title. Players will control a tiny warrior as they explore the depths of a remote island. Gameplay is also said to be brutal with fair combat, so this will not be something for the faint of heart.
