To truly complete Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location, you’ll have to get all three secret stars. So, what’s the deal with stars? Stars show how much of the main Five Nights At Freddy’s experience you’ve completed — one star means you’ve completing five nights, while two or three stars require extra challenges to unlock. Each star earned unlocks new features; you’ll get the Extras menu and even more functions for getting stars, for example.
Basically, getting stars is the goal of the game. Getting the coveted third star is the trickiest task to accomplish, and ends with a terrifying encounter with an all-new character. Earning the last star will also get the alternate ending, with a quick visit to a very familiar booth.

How To Get All 3 Stars
Stars appear in the upper-right corner of the main menu after completing certain milestones. You’ll unlock certain features for completing stars:
- Star #1: Unlocks the “Extras” menu.
- Star #2: Gives you the “Private Room” keycard.
- Star #3: Unlocks “Butter” in the “Extras” menu.
Each star is earned by completing the game a certain way. There are two endings and one special death state. Here’s how to get each one.
How To Get Star #1:
We won’t say the first star is “easy” to get, but it is the most common one you’ll unlock. To unlock this star, you’ll need to…
- Complete all five nights, 1-5, and follow the instructions at the end of Night 5.
If you can manage to survive, you’ll experience the standard ending and earn the first star. This will also unlock the “Extras” menu.
How To Get Star #2:
This is where the challenge ramps up. After completing the game once, you’ll need to experience a special mini-game that only appears during a death-state. Here are the details.
- An 8-bit minigame will randomly appear after you die. This minigame (most likely) appears only after you’ve survived five nights.
- To complete the 8-bit minigame, collect the treats and return them to the children in the different screens.
If you’re lucky enough to randomly trigger the 8-bit minigame event after dying, complete it to earn Star #2 and the keycard.
What is the keycard for?: The keycard, given after completing the hidden minigame, will get you into the locked Private Room during Night 5. This is the only way to unlock the final event and starts the path to the alternate ending / third star.
How To Get Star #3:
Earning the third star will also pit your technician against Ennard, the final amalgam animatronic monstrosity. This challenge unlocks the alternate ending and drops the “Butter” in your “Extras” menu.
- After completing the 8-Bit minigame event, you’ll unlock the keycard. It is used to open the Private Room on Night 5 only.
Actually getting into the locked room requires some pretty specific steps. Here’s how it is done:
- Start Night 5 with 2 Stars (The keycard is unlocked.)
- Send the Circus Baby animatronic to the Scooping Room.
- Go to the Funtime Auditorium to enter the Private Room
- Move the cursor to the right side of the screen.
- Hold the W+D keys until the door unlocks.
- You must have the keycard to open this door.
- Ennard will appear! Survive the rest of the night.
Ennard follows an erratic pattern. Survival means you’re always on the move. If you can manage to escape Ennard and survive the night, you’ll earn the “fake” alternate ending and complete FNaF: Sister Location.
