In GTA Online’s newest update, A Safehouse in the Hills, players have been given quite a bit to chomp on. Mansions to buy, cars to drive, as well as being able to own a pet in that new mansion. And of course what would a new update be without new missions to do? That’s where we introduce KnoWay Out, a series of missions where players are reunited with the paranoid Jewish hacker, Avi Schwartzman, who reaches out to the player with mumblings of the FIB surveilling citizens using the new autonomous taxis created by KnoWay. From here we will talk you through starting the mission and how to complete the first of the five missions.
How do you Start KnoWay Out?
“Xero. Calais Ave. Payphone. Answer it.”
To start, you will receive a text from an unknown number, directing the player to go to Calais Avenue to answer a payphone. Once you have gotten the text, a large yellow “A” icon will appear on the map. Going to the directed spot and interacting with the payphone will begin the series of five missions.
First Mission: Negative Press
Once the first call has been finalized, Avi will contact the player through another payphone, found where the large “A” icon is on the map. Going to it and answering the phone will activate the first mission. Avi informs the player that the KnoWay company has a huge PR campaign going on and wants to “hit them where it hurts”.
Accepting the mission, Avi will send the player to a KnoWay depot to infiltrate and take out the guards inside using your handy-dandy gun. After successfully taking all of them out, a green arrow will appear above one of the test pods in the depot. Hopping inside, you will now have remote control of one of the KnoWay taxis.
From here, create chaos. Drive recklessly around the city, smash into oncoming traffic, the whole shebang. The mission will give you three objectives to complete with the taxi, available to check off at the top left, with examples like causing collisions or even hitting pedestrians wherever they are unlucky to be walking at the time. After those objectives have been completed, ramps will appear near billboards where you will be instructed to destroy billboards plastered with the KnoWay brand, as well as taking out a few of your fellow robot taxi brethren, disabling them. Ramming them hard and fast is difficult but possible to do, but after completing all this, Avi will tell you to destroy the taxi you’re controlling by either crashing it into a gas station pump or drowning it in nearby deep water.
With your new toy destroyed and havoc wrecked, the incident is causing a wave of negative press and the police will be on the case, closing in on you. Lose them to collect your mission reward in the trunk of Avi’s Felon GT. Reward amount is determined on how quickly you finish the mission, but an extra $10k is added on if you destroy everything using the remote control taxi. Finally, answer the payphone to close out the mission.
