One of the most useful optional bunkers in Death Stranding 2 is BPAS — a settlement that provides unique APAS upgrades for Sam that are better than anything else in the game. If you’re looking for the best possible upgrades in the game and you’ve been saving up your skill points, you’ll want to unlock this totally optional character ASAP.
BPAS is a unique hacker that has added new skills to the APAS upgrades menu. Every time you earn a star at BPAS, you’ll get a new skill — and these skills are ridiculously strong. One makes balance easier for Sam, while another collects Chiral Crystals constantly, giving you essentially an infinite supply while walking around. All of these upgrades are great, and we’ll list all of them in the full guide below.
Where To Find BPAS?
BPAS is found on the southern coast of Australia, to the east of Terminal Fort Knot and very, very close to The Adventurer on the snowy mountain base. This character can only be unlocked in Episode 17 after you complete the game and get the end credits. BPAS and Mr. Impossible are the last two locations in Australia that only unlock after finishing the story. Learn how to find Mr. Impossible here.
- BPAS is a unique bunker that is only available in Episode 17 — to find it, travel directly west from the Adventurer. Over the first ridge, you’ll find BPAS.
To deliver to BPAS, search the nearby area for Lost Cargo. Lost Cargo for BPAS is strewn all over the snowy area near the bunker, so all you need to do is bring it in. BPAS won’t let you hook up the Chiral Network instantly — you’ll need to complete an extra job for them, but this is absolutely worth it.
Complete the Standard Order for BPAS “593: Recover Food Rations and Drinking Water Lost During Delivery” to earn at least 1 Star. Bring a truck or a floating carrier to make this delivery a lot easier, the lost cargo is located relatively close to BPAS’s position so you can have this task done in a few minutes.
What Does BPAS Unlock?
BPAS is the best post-game bunker and offers the best rewards. By leveling up BPAS, Sam will earn new skills to purchase at the APAS menu. Some of these skills are the best unlockables in the game. Here’s what you’ll get for leveling up BPAS.
- 1 Star: Super Chiralium Extraction – Extracts Chiralium from the air at all times.
- 2 Star: Super Balance Assistance – Improves Sam’s balance when moving or climbing.
- 3 Star: Super Enhancement Switch – Allows Sam to change APAS enhancements at any time, including outside the Chiral Network.
- 4 Star: Super Aim Assistance – Improves Auto-Aim further.
- 5 Star: Super EM Plasma – Greatly increases the area-of-effect of electricity weapons.
To earn 5-Stars with BPAS faster, use the Order menu’s Search Function and select orders with large cargo deliveries. The bigger the delivery, the more points you’ll earn. Luckily, BPAS has relatively low requirements for passing each star threshold.
