One of the trickiest side-quests in the Trosky region is Opus Magnum in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The final quest for Miller Krezyl sends you into Castle Trosky to recover a lost book — but that book is really, really hard to find. No one actually knows where it is, and finding it requires following clues. If you’re lost and don’t know where to look, this is what you need to know. Here’s where to find the Lightbringer’s Secret book.
Completing this quest will reward you with the Recipe for Lead Shot Gunpowder. This recipe allows you to craft more Lead Shot for your Pistole — a handgun that shoots straight through heavy armor. You’ll earn a Pistole after progressing to the second map.
How To Find Lightbringer’s Secret
To find the Lightbringer’s Secret for Miller Kreyzl in Lower Semine Mill, you’ll need to leave Trosky Castle. For the quest Opus Magnum you’ll be sent on a long series of mini quests to break into the castle and locate the rare tome. None of this is necessary. You can skip all steps of this quest just by exploring the exterior of Trosky Castle.
NOTE: This quest can also be completed even after the quest Wedding Crashers. You’ll be able to freely enter and explore the castle without doing the first steps.
Once you’re inside the castle, you’ll learn that the rare tome has been lost. The old man Nikvard took the book and lost it. You can talk to three NPCs around the castle for clues, or you can go straight to the lost book location. Each clue they provide gives you an idea where to look but doesn’t tell you to the exact location.
- Opus Magnum Book Location:
- To find the book, go to the exterior castle wall on the west side of the castle. You’ll want to go the rocky hills outside the castle beneath the privy / combat arena grounds.
- By climbing the cliffs here, you’ll reach an area where the castle’s waste (poo) is dumped.
- The dead body of Nikvard is located here. You’ll also find the book around the corner.
Collect it for the Miller — this can be done after you’re granted access to the castle, so you don’t even need to break into the castle to collect it. For more help finding the location, check out the map here. This is where you need to look.
Returning the book to Miller Kreyzl will complete the quest — you’ll learn the true purpose of the book. It isn’t for creating golems or making gold, it’s for creating black powder. The weapon of the future goes off with an explosive force, and you’ll learn why gunpowder is so valuable.
