Are you after some new top down games? You’re in luck as there are quite a few heading our way throughout 2025. Here are just a few to keep tabs on.
#13 33 Immortals
It’s not uncommon for certain games to have groups of players that play together to achieve a common goal. But in 33 Immortals, that idea gets taken to a larger scale. As the name implies, there will be 33 gamers working together to try and fight back against a world that’s doomed to die. But it’s not dead yet, and neither are you!
The goal here is to work as a team to unleash the most damage, do combos, and survive the judgment of the gods!
If you try to take this on alone, you’ll be destroyed. So team up with your fellow immortals and who the ones above who’s boss!
#12 Dragonkin: The Banished
Most people dream of having a world where dragons exist in one form or another. After all, dragons are cool! Well, they’re cool most of the time. You know, when they’re not unstoppable monsters that can poison your world and cause its residents to live in fear.
That’s the world you reside in within Dragonkin: The Banished. You’ll play as one of four heroes who must rise up to fight through the ranks of the Dragon Lords, and then kill those master dragons to ensure that your land can finally know peace.
There are many ways to build up your hero, so don’t be afraid to try out new things to get better results!
#11 Surfpunk
You might not think that a game about surfers would be that compelling, but it is when you add “punk” to the end of its name. In Surfpunk, you’ll play a group of surfers who decide to go to a mysterious ruin across the watery way to try and get some artifacts.
The good news is that you’re skilled enough to get across the water and get the relics. However, with each pass you make, the dangers both on land and in the water will increase. If you’re not careful, you’ll lose your loot, or your lives.
So, be on point as you shred across the water. Or else.
#10 Copa City
Have you ever been near a major city during a massive sporting event? As in, one that brings in TENS OF THOUSANDS of people at times due to how massive the event itself is? Have you ever wondered, “What does it take to set up the city for these events?”
If so, check out Copa City, as you’ll get the chance to be the head of a planning committee that must prepare a city for a key futbol event. Your goal is simple: make sure that the city can handle all the new people, while also giving the people things to buy, food to eat, places to go when not watching matches, and so on!
#9 Prison Architect 2
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the head of a prison? If so, Prison Architect 2 will let you live out your oddly specific desires by letting you build a prison that you think is inescapable. Oh, and you’ll have to put that to the test, as there will be constant attempts by the prisoners themselves to try and get out.
One way you can combat that is by making the prison something that they don’t mind staying in. You have to balance between keeping them contained and keeping them happy.
It’s your time to shine, warden. Don’t screw it up!
#8 Grit and Valor: 1949
Welcome to an alternate version of Earth where World War II didn’t end in 1945, and the Axis Powers were never truly put on the backfoot, because they had mechs to help them turn the tide of battle! In Grit and Valor: 1949, you’ll be part of the resistance movement, having to use your limited supplies and resources to go into the various regions of Axis territory and attempt to take it back for the side of good!
The more you fight, the more materials you can get to improve your own mechs and ensure your forces are ready for the next battle. Nothing is certain in war, so don’t get cocky!
#7 Warpaws
War is something we sadly have to deal with in our world. One war in particular is truly a “never-ending war,” and that is the war…of cats vs. dogs! Yes, this primal battle will never end, because combatants will never allow it to happen! Enter Warpaws, the game that takes the struggle between these two species to the next level by giving them World War II-style equipment to take each other out with!
You’ll command one of these species and use your tactics to try and wipe the other side out! The game is honestly meant to be light-hearted, so you won’t need to worry about carnage. Instead, just worry about getting the victory!
#6 Naiad
Look, there are plenty of video games out there that will make you “happy” via its action and combat, and we have a few of those left on this list to satisfy you if that’s your thing. However, it’s also important that you go and use video games to truly relax and enjoy the beautiful games that are being crafted for you.
NAIAD is one such title. The game is all about relaxing on a truly lazy river, enjoying the motions to get down the water, and seeing what beautiful things you’ll come across on your “journey.”
So take a beat, enjoy the water, and let the world showcase its beauty.
#5 Sick Samurai
Oh, our dear Samurai character is sick? That’s too bad. Perhaps some special soups and medicine will help cure thy cold?
Yes, we’re joking, obviously. Sick Samurai is only “sick” in how “sick” its looks and combat are. In this case, the top-down perspective is used to ensure that you have your eyes on everything happening within the battlefield you’ll go upon. Your goal is simple: to kill every enemy you come across and ensure you don’t get cut in the process.
The game is one of instadeath if you get hit. So, yeah, don’t get hit! Unleash your brutal techniques and show why none can touch you.
#4 Bylina
How far would you go to save your soul? That is the question that many people ask in fictional tales. Yet, in Bylina, it’s the very crux of your journey. You are born without powers, and that makes it so that everyone thinks you are worthless. You won’t take that lying down, though! Instead, you’ll go on a daring quest to fight a “Deathless” enemy and ensure your worth can be seen throughout the ages!
Based on the mythologic of Slavic tales, you’ll find yourself in a dark land where just about anything can happen. Prepare yourself for battle, and ensure that you’re not lost to time!
#3 Anvil Empires
We’re not sure how an anvil can have an empire. After all, it’s an inanimate object! How does it make an empire on its own?
Jokes aside, Anvil Empires is a MMO-type conquest title where you’ll work alongside other players, or against them, to try and conquer a massive map! You’ll start small by building up tiny villages as you grow your power and influence.
Then, eventually, you’ll take to the battlefield in massive brawls that’ll determine who is the better leader. Build your empires with efficiency and tactics in mind so that your empire can grow quickly, allowing you to expand to other regions!
#2 Wardens Rising
Next, we have Wardens Rising, which is a unique game that combines MOBAs, tower defense titles, and other elements together to deliver a difficult yet rewarding gameplay experience. In the title, you’ll be charged with protecting a specific area and the various power cores that lie within it. That won’t be easy, as you have literal interdimensional threats to deal with, and you’ll need help from special “Wardens” to ensure victory.
Plan your defenses carefully, level up your Wardens so that they can handle the more dangerous challenges, and do right by your kind! The better you do, the more accolades and glory you get! Who wouldn’t want that?
#1 Dragon Ball Project: Multi
It’s only fair that we end this list with some high-octane fun, right? Dragon Ball Project: Multi had a beta earlier this year and blew everyone away with its unique MOBA-style gameplay elements that had many gamers wanting more.
Much like other games of this nature, you’ll choose from a roster of iconic characters and then attempt to complete tasks with your team to destroy your enemies’ base, get the Dragon Balls, and so on.
We’ve only seen a small fraction of the roster via the beta, but it’ll likely be bigger when it comes out.
Naturally, you must all play as Cooler. Why? Because he’s Pump Daddy C!
