After three years, Genshin Impact finally gave us a Main Hydro DPS Catalyst character. Up to this point, our options were Barbara, Kokomi, and Mona – the former two being healers. Now, Neuvillette brings the pain with justice and water.
Genshin Impact: Noelle Talent Guide | Genshin Impact: Sayu Talent Guide | Genshin Impact: Tartaglia Talent Guide
Neuvillette relies on his Charged Attacks to deal damage. Since this is linked to the Normal Attack Talent, focus on upgrading Neuvillette’s Normal Attack first. His Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can be leveled up together but if you have to choose one, upgrade his Elemental Skill before his Burst.
Combat Talents
Normal Attack – As Water Seeks Equilibrium
Neuvillette can perform up to 3 consecutive Normal Attacks, all of which deal Hydro DMG. His Plunging Attack will deal AoE Hydro DMG upon hitting the ground.
Charged Attack Empowerment: Legal Evaluation
While charging, Neuvillette will gather the power of water, forming it into a Seal of Arbitration. In this state, Neuvillette can move and absorb any Sourcewater Droplets in a certain AoE. Every Droplet he absorbs will increase the formation speed of the Seal and heal Neuvillette.
Unlike other characters, Neuvillette can absorb Sourcewater Droplets created by the Hydro Traveler, and vice versa. This means that you can use the Hydro Traveler as a Support for Neuvillette by generating Sourcewater Droplets for Neuvillette to pick up during his charging state.
When the charging stops and the Symbol has not formed, Neuvillette will unleash a Charged Attack. If the Symbol has formed, Neuvillette will perform Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment. The Symbol takes 3 seconds to form and each Droplet increases the formation speed by 1 second.
During this time, Neuvillette has an Interruption Resistance effect and can levitate. The range of his Sourcewater Droplet absorption and attack damage will be highlighted on the ground, so you can get a good sense of how far Neuvillette’s AoE reaches.
Charged Attack
Neuvillette’s regular Charged Attack operates like any other Catalyst character’s Charged Attack. He will consume a fixed amount of Stamina and unleash an AoE Hydro attack.
Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment
Neuvillette will deal continuous AoE Hydro DMG to all opponents in a straight-line area in front of him. Equitable Judgment will not consume Stamina and lasts 3 seconds. If Neuvillette’s HP is 50% or over, he will continuously lose HP while using this attack.
Elemental Skill – O Tears, I Shall Repay
Neuvillette summons a Raging Waterfall that deals AoE Hydro DMG to opponents in front of him based on his Mx HP. After hitting an enemy, 3 Sourcewater Droplets will be generated near that enemy.
Additionally, at certain intervals when the Raging Waterfall descends, a Spiritbreath Thorn will pierce enemies and deal Pneuma-aligned Hydro DMG.
Elemental Burst – O Tides, I Have Returned
Neuvillette unleashes waves that deal AoE Hydro DMG based on his Max HP. After a short interval, 2 waterfalls will descend and deal Hydro DMG in a smaller AoE. These waterfalls also generate 6 Sourcewater Droplets within an area in front of Neuvillette.
Passive Talents
1st Ascension – Heir to the Ancient Sea’s Authority
When a party member triggers a Vaporize, Frozen, Electro-Charged, Bloom, Hydro Swirl, or a Hydro Crystallize reaction on opponents, Neuvillette will gain 1 stack of Past Draconic Glories for 30 seconds. He can have a maximum of 3 Past Draconic Glories stacks and stacks created by each kind of Elemental Reaction exist independently. Each stack will increase the DMG dealt by Equitable Judgment to 110%, 125%, and 160% of its original DMG, respectively.
Neuvillette’s hair will glow when he has all 3 stacks active.
4th Ascension – Discipline of the Supreme Arbitration
For each 1% of Neuvillette’s current HP greater than 30% of his Max HP, he will gain 0.6% Hydro DMG Bonus, up to a maximum bonus of 30%.
To get the maximum bonus, Neuvillette needs to have at least 80% HP of his Max HP.
Utility Passive – Gather Like the Tide
Increases the underwater Sprint SPD for your party by 15%. This does not stack with Passive Talents that provide the same effect.
