2023 has been a packed year full of incredible video game releases. While we have plenty of great games to play each month, with the fall season looking to be rather stacked, there are some games to keep tabs on for 2024 and beyond. Here are just a few of the new game announcements we saw during the month of September. These games are not ranked in any particular order. We just want to spread the word and keep you updated on some titles that looked particularly interesting to us.
#10 Unicorn Overlord
Made by the team at Vanillaware, Unicorn Overlord will feature you in a deep fantasy/medieval world where you’ll try and reclaim your kingdom while building up alliances with numerous other characters you meet.
You’ll want to be careful about your reputation, as that can affect who you get and how others will interact with you.
The unique art style is perfectly mixed with tactics-style combat that will push you to make the best squad possible to take on the threats that lie ahead. Will you be able to make the world better? Or will you fall to those who are trying to take everything for themselves?
#9 Tomb Raider I-III Remastered
There are many legendary heroines in video games that people love to play, and few are as epic as Lara Croft. She’s had many great adventures over the years, including a reboot saga by Square Enix that was very well-received.
But if you wish to go to the very beginning of it all, the Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection will be the perfect thing for you. With it, you’ll be able to relive the original adventures with Lara but with updated graphics.
Witness her first tales and see how far gaming has come since then. There will be things you didn’t expect, and you’ll see why her story has been told many times over.
#8 Popucom
If you’re looking for a title to play with friends and have a unique adventure in, Popucom is the game to look for. It’s a co-op adventure that’ll ensure that you work together if you wish to make it through.
One of the key hooks of the title is the use of colors. As you go through, you’ll need to match certain colors to get through gates or shoot certain things with a certain color to make them pop and then start a chain reaction, and more.
Plus, there will be other companions you’ll meet on your journey, and they’ll help you work your way through the colorful world.
#7 Beautiful Light
If you want a shooter title that’ll help you put other players in their place, you might want to see if Beautiful Light is worthy of your fancy when it arrives.
The game is a PvPvP shooter with you as a part of an extraction team set in a post-apocalyptic world. You aim to infiltrate certain areas, get items, and take out foes. But that’s just scratching the surface of what the game does. For example, you can actually be a monster and raid another player’s base!
The more missions you do, the better gear your character gets, ensuring that they can take on all that’s coming for them in this dangerous world.
#6 Cypher 007
Ready for a mobile title featuring everyone’s favorite secret agent? Cypher 007 can be found on Apple Arcade and focuses on the super spy being captured and put into a mind space that recreates fan-favorite moments from the movie series.
Your job is to get out of this trap so that you can take down the insidious Blofeld and shut down this mind game for good.
You won’t be alone, though; iconic characters and gadgets will help 007 in his quest for freedom, and there will be plenty of Easter Eggs for fans to enjoy. So do you think you can showcase the “spectre of defeat”? Or will you “only live twice, Mr. Bond?”
#5 Contra: Operation Galuga
Contra: Operation Galuga aims to bring back the classic shooter franchise that fans loved to run and gun in and then take it to the next level with modern graphics and mechanics.
You’ll play as classic characters Bill Rizer and Lance Bean as you’re sent to a group of islands to take out a terrorist threat. To defeat them, you’ll need to unleash all manner of weaponry to destroy enemies, vehicles, and more.
Everything you loved about the classic titles will be here, including co-op player, numerous reasons to replay levels, and more. If you’re up for a nostalgia trip that’ll let you fire lots of bullets and missiles? This is the game for you.
#4 Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn
If you were a fan of the original game, you’ll want to check out Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn, an expansive DLC that will tell a new story and put your characters in all-new battles and quests that are sure to make you jump into the game once again.
Your adventure begins when you meet a young girl who is doomed to a curse, thanks to her lineage. But your party is certain you can overcome this fate, and thus, you set off to save her.
With new quests, dungeons, monsters, and more to overcome, it won’t be easy to get the happy ending you want.
#3 Princess Peach: Showtime!
Princess Peach is a key part of the Nintendo family, but she hasn’t had a lot of time to showcase her skills on her own. She’s usually saved by Mario and crew or alongside them for grand adventures. But now, in Princess Peach: Showtime!, you’ll get the chance to see the princess be her own hero once again!
The princess is invited to a special theater for a show, but things go wrong quickly when a villainous group takes over and warps the theater into their lair. To combat this, Peach must don various outfits that will turn her into a musketeer, a cook, a detective, and more!
Each stage will play differently, ensuring that there’s something fresh for gamers to do.
#2 Mario vs. Donkey Kong
A handheld classic is coming back for a remaster! Mario vs. Donkey Kong takes the all-time rivalry and puts it on the Switch. The game will feature the classic ape taking the numerous Mario toys from a workshop, and it’s up to our favorite plumber to get them back!
But to do so, he’ll need to go across various levels and collect items and keys to get to the next one! The game plays like an old-school puzzle adventure mixed with platforming and enemies. You’ll need to think multiple steps ahead if you want to make it through!

#1 New Arc Line
Welcome to the city of New Arc, a place that is filled with a kind of decadence that most only dream about. As you enter the city, you have a simple goal: find a cure for your family.
But as New Arc Line makes perfectly clear, the city isn’t as perfect and pristine as it likes to think it is. Instead, it’s a haven of madness, corruption, monsters, and more. Forced to start at the bottom of the “food chain,” you’ll need to gather allies and find a way to the top so you can get what you need.
But whether you’ll be the hero or villain at the end of the tale is up to you.
