As we’re now into March, it feels appropriate to look at what February had to offer and see the best games. Shall we begin?
#11 Deliver Us Mars
Humanity is on its last legs. Extinction is all but certain unless humanity can get off of Earth. So when a message from Mars gives them the location of the colony ships they once lost, hope is restored. But is this too easy?
In Deliver Us Mars, you’ll take the role of an astronaut sent to Mars to recover the Ark Ships and learn what happened on the red planet.
You’ll wander Mars and attempt to learn the truth while solving puzzles and surviving the harsh environments. Humanity is depending on your to bring those ships home. Will you be able to do it?
#10 Returnal (PC Release)
Yes, we know Returnal came out last year, but PC gamers haven’t had a chance to try it! That is, they hadn’t until now because the game has come to PC and has been reminding people of why many enjoyed it in the first place.
You play Selene, who crash lands on an alien world where an ancient civilization once existed. But something is very wrong. She’s trapped in a time loop, one that changes the world every time she dies! So you have to break the cycle!
Venture through the world and fight off terrifying monsters and learn the truth so that she can escape. That is if escape is even an option.
#9 Company of Heroes 3
A set of RTS games stood above the rest for the longest time to deliver what many felt was the definitive war experience. Now, you can play the latest entry in the franchise.
Company of Heroes 3 puts you on a new battlefield within World War II, and you’ll need to use your strategic mind to the fullest if you wish to make it through the battle with your forces mostly intact. Command your units and guide them through each map, looking for the ins and outs that could deliver a victory.
Will you try to bulldoze your enemy into submission? Or will you seek to surround them and ensure they can’t escape? The choice is yours.
#8 Atomic Heart
Many love to picture a future where humans and robots work harmoniously to create a better world for all.
Sadly, in Atomic Heart, things went from really good to really bad in almost no time flat. The “utopia” that was crafted between man and machine has gone awry, and as a result, you must fight through the madness and learn the truth!
You’ll wield various weapons as you battle through robotic armies and mutated creatures. Use them in unique ways to overcome enemy abilities and stay alive.
With so much to see and explore, you’ll have the time of your life as you fight for it.
#7 Wild Hearts
If you’ve tried to get into a certain other “monster hunting” franchise but found it too challenging, Wild Hearts is here to help you. It’s meant to be a more accessible game that features a tight story and game mechanics for anyone to pick up and enjoy.
In the game, you’ll be a hunter who is sent to take out the beasts known as the Kemono. These creatures once were docile but then became aggressive.
You’ll have to use special technology to take them down. But you don’t have to take them down alone! Team up with friends so you have a party to take down all these beasts!
#6 Sons of the Forest
If you’re looking for an adventure where survival is your only option, Sons of the Forest will test you quite a bit. The game puts you as someone hired to go to an island to find a lost billionaire.
As it turns out, the island is swarming with cannibals, and you must do whatever it takes to get off the island alive. You’ll be given complete freedom on the island to do what you want when you want. How you explore, fight, and survive is up to you.
The longer you stay on the island, the more the island changes. Seasons will alter what you can do, and crafting will help unlock no weapons and items to use for survival.
#5 Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe
It may seem odd that a port is so high on this list, but when a port improves the original and adds more content to it? Then yeah, you get a high ranking on this list!
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a port of the underrated Wii title that features Kirby and his allies coming together to help Magalor. When his ship crashes onto Dream Land, they’ll need to assemble the pieces so he can return home!
Aside from the wonderful main adventure, you’ll also get to visit a wondrous mini-game theme park and partake in an adventure as Magalor! So as you can see, the game is more than a port!
#4 Like a Dragon: Ishin!
Even with a rebranding of the entire franchise, fans can’t get enough of Like a Dragon: Ishin! You’ll want to dive in and see why!
You’ll immediately notice how this isn’t the modern game you likely expected. Instead, it’s set in the 1860s, where you’ll become a legendary Samurai trying to save his people and avenge his father!
As you travel to Kyoto, you’ll wield a sword, gun, and other weapons to defeat the enemies that dare cross you. The fate of Japan will be in your hands and blade, so use them to the fullest to deliver the justice you seek!
#3 Horizon Call of the Mountain
If you’ve been enjoying the adventures of Aloy but want a new perspective on things, you’ll want to check out Horizon Call of the Mountain. The game puts you into the VR landscape and have you play Ryas, a former soldier on a mission of redemption to save his people and get back his honor.
To do so, he’ll have to reach the summit of Carja Sundom and learn what mysteries this mountain range offers.
If you’re worried about Aloy, don’t worry, she’s there, and you’ll see other familiar faces from that world. So if you have a PS VR 2, this is the killer app you’ll want to get!
#2 Octopath Traveler 2
The follow-up to one of the best RPGs of the last several years, Octopath Traveler 2, delivers an incredible experience that builds upon everything the first game did.
You’ll once again fill in the shoes of eight different protagonists, each with a journey they must complete. Some are seeking to free their nation from war. Others wish to rid the world of poverty. At the same time, some seek revenge from those that have hurt them.
As you go through their tales, you’ll experience a deep RPG system with new additions that make every move important! So dive into the adventure, and prepare to be there for quite a long time as there’s lots to do.
#1 Hogwarts Legacy
Is it really surprising that Hogwarts Legacy is the best game of February? Even if you ignored the incredible sales numbers the title did in its first two weeks, the critics and fans loved the game.
It’s not hard to see why, either. The game lets you become a student and Hogwarts and craft your desired adventure! You’ll attend classes to learn spells, wander the grounds to see what you can interact with, and battle witches and wizards!
You can even choose to be a Dark Witch/Wizard if you desire and learn the Unforgivable Curses! So if you’re not someone playing this game right now, you’re in the minority.
