Fire Emblem Engage loves rings – and I mean it loves rings. When you aren’t going to war over them, you are rubbing them vigorously to get rid of the grime and gore of a solid day’s work. Outside of the eponymous Emblem Rings, there are lesser rings that you can dole out to your lesser characters. These are known as Bond Rings.
Bond Rings are, in essence, Emblem Rings that have been inhabited by the side characters of previous Fire Emblem games. Like Emblem Rings, Bond Rings provide powerful boons to your characters, although they are not mighty enough to enable Engage – heck you can’t even summon a spectral companion.

How To Make Bond Rings
Bond Rings unlock the moment you gain access to the Ring Chamber at the Somniel. Bond Rings require an Emblem Ring and a chunk of Bond Fragments. Simply select the Emblem Ring you want to form a Bond Ring with, spend the resources, and voila, a Bond Ring appears.
What Bond Ring you get is random – although you are restricted to the unique characters assigned to each Emblem Ring. For example, Marth’s potential Bond Rings are different to Roy’s. However, there is more randomness to be had outside of which character is bound to a Bond Ring. This is the Bond Ring Rank.
Bond Ring Rank
Every Bond Ring you make has a Rank, and this ranges from C to S, with C being the weakest. Naturally, you want to equip the best version of any Bond Ring you craft, but since this is a light Gacha system, you could be burning a lot of resources just to grab a decent Bond Ring.
Fire Emblem Engage has you covered, however. If you have multiples of the same Bond Ring (a common occurrence), you can combine them to make a Ring of a higher Rank. This is the easiest way to get your Bond Rings maxed out, but expect to burn a lot of Bond Fragments nonetheless.
Benefits Of Bond Rings
Of course, all of this crafting would be for nought if Bond Rings were naff. Thankfully, they are far from it. In fact, Bond Rings are incredibly powerful and provide multiple benefits throughout the game. The most obvious is the bump in Stats your characters will receive when wearing one. This can be used to shore up a weakness or enhance strengths, allowing you to fine-tune your characters.
The biggest benefit – and one you may overlook at first – is the ability to generate SP. Characters can only gain SP when they are wearing an Emblem Ring or a Bond Ring. This is very important since SP is used to inherit skills from Emblem Rings. Since Emblem Rings are rare, and they take a long time to gather, having characters build up SP in preparation for their Emblem Ring allows you to jump straight into Inheritance without having to invest as much time grinding.
Overall, Bond Rings are excellent additions to your party and you should endeavour to get a Bond Ring onto every character in your party – apart from those in possession of an Emblem Ring, of course.
