Street Fighter V has just been released on both the PC and PlayStation 4, where it’s gotten off to something of a rocky start. However, there’s little doubt that Capcom will sort the whole mess out in due time. Beyond its launch woes, the game offers plenty for fighting game fans to enjoy with new systems, impressive graphics and animations, and flashy, stylish fighters.
One of the game’s main draws, especially for players who intend on spending a lot of time with it, is the ability to unlock alternate costumes for your fighters. Street Fighter V has tons of them, but you’ll need to accomplish a few things first in order to get them.
First and foremost, playing through the game’s short single-player story mode will unlock a number of alternate costumes. After completing any individual character’s story segment, you’ll be able to change their story costume. There’s not much else you can do with those costumes, as they’re currently locked away by the online store, which only goes live in March.
In the meantime, you can unlock different color schemes for use on the basic costume. To gain access to all ten color schemes for each fighter, you’ll need to complete different levels of Survival on your fighter of choice. Completing a set number of fights in every tier, with the exception of the game’s hardest difficulty, Hell, will unlock new colors options for you to use. Here’s what’s up:
- Easy – 10 Fights (3rd color option)
- Normal – 30 Fights (4th, 5th, and 6th options)
- Hard – 50 Fights (7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th color options)
