The Nintendo Switch has many different gaming genres for players to enjoy. That includes the battle royale genre as you’ll see below.
#9 Realm Royale Reforged
While not the best battle royale you’ll see on this list, it is available on the Switch, so you might as well try it out if you have time.
Realm Royale Reforged puts you in teams and has you fighting one another for supremacy. Between your natural weapons and the ones you can craft on the battlefield, you’ll have a lot of options to get things done. Teamwork is vital here, or else you’ll be picked off, and your team will be led to suffer.
But even in death, you can still be helpful. Death only turns you into a chicken that can be reverted to standard form.
#8 Spellbreak
If you want a battle royale title with a bit more magic over might, then check out Spellbreak. The title puts you in a world where magic has been sealed away by jerks who think they know better—time to prove them wrong by force. Magical force, that is.
With your gauntlet, you’ll choose a class of magic to be and then use your newfound powers to wreak havoc on the battlefield and do whatever it takes to win. Plus, if you get a second gauntlet, you can choose another class and fuse your abilities to create devastating combination magic.
Will you be the one to free magic?
#7 Super Animal Royale
At first, Super Animal Royale might sound like an adorable title that’ll have you playing as animals in a “fun time game.” But no, that’s not it at all. Instead, you’ll be in a war with 64 players. Plus, these animals have guns and other weapons they’re willing to use to kill you and everyone else standing in their way.
Fun times!
A twist on matters, though, is you’ll have a wide safari-style world to explore, and there’s a story behind everything that led to this fight. Stay alive long enough, and you might just hear it.
#6 Ninjala
If Splatoon ever became a battle royale title, it would be Ninjala. Many people have compared the two since the titles’ launch due to their similarities.
For example, while one title is about ink, the other is about bubble gum. Specifically, ninja bubble gum, as you’ll use various bubble-gum-themed weapons to take out enemy players. One word of warning, the game doesn’t focus on “last man standing” like other titles. Instead, they have a points system. The one with the most points at the end? Wins!
So craft your ultimate ninja items and have at it!
#5 Fall Guys
If we’re being honest, Fall Guys on Switch is a perfect match. Why? Because the game is adorable, and the title fits the “aesthetic” that most put upon Nintendo and its systems.
The game’s mechanics are simple. You’ll design your character and then go to the races and obstacle courses against other players. Of course, with not having the best mobility, you’ll need to be careful with every move you make! Or, rush ahead and see if you can outlast all the other players!
Be warned. They fight dirty, so you might have to do the same to survive!
#4 Apex Legends
Getting Apex Legends was just another feather in the cap of Nintendo for their console. The free-to-play title focuses mainly on 3v3 competition as you pick a champion from an extensive roster and then work with your teammates to secure victory.
The action is fast-paced and fun. You’ll want to test all the different characters to see which unique abilities fit your playstyle. Plus, the team at Respawn Entertainment has been consistent with their additional content and seasons. They ensure players always have a reason to come back, no matter what system they’re on.
#3 PAC-MAN 99
Two of the top three on this list are in the “99” category. First up is PAC-MAN 99. The all-time classic arcade game is back, and you’re not playing it alone this time.
With 98 other players out there, you’ll have to get those pellets and the power-ups to send obstacles to other players to trip them up. The name of the game is advancing far and knocking out other players, so you’re the last Pac-Man standing.
Think fast, overcome the challenge, and you’ll win, but if you make a wrong move? You’re done. Think you can handle the challenge?
#2 Fortnite
It was a big deal when Fortnite came to the Nintendo Switch, mainly because many wondered if Epic Games would bring it over. The title was already dominating the market, but it hadn’t come to Switch yet despite the rumors.
Then, like many 3rd party titles before it, the game was announced for the system, and fans have enjoyed it ever since.
The game is still a blast to play, especially with all the extra content that Epic Games have added. There’s always something new on the horizon, and many consider it the ultimate battle royale game.
#1 Tetris 99
Given our recent battle royale lists, you might have expected the last entry to be No.1. But no. When it comes to the ultimate battle royale title on Switch, it can only be Tetris 99.
The game came out of nowhere and took over the Switch. Not the least of which was because it was free! In it, you’ll play Tetris against 98 other players and see who can outlast the rest to be a champion.
This is the top game because, more than any other battle royale title, this one is about skill. Your skill. If you keep a calm head and endure the obstacles, you’ll come out on top. If not? Try another round.
