MultiVersus: How To Get Gold & Gleamium | Currency Guide

July 28, 2022 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Mastering money.

MultiVersus is a F2P brawler where you can take control of WB characters like Bugs Bunny, Iron Giant, and Superman. If you do decide to get the F2P version, you’ll only be able to unlock those characters with two types of currencies — gold and gleamium. Gold can be earned in-game through progression, while gleamium is the premium currency. We’ll explain how both of these currencies work and how to earn more in the full guide below.

MultiVersus exploded on the Steam charts after entering Open Beta. This thing is wildly popular. Who knew people wanted Jake The Dog from Adventure Time to slap Shaggy from Scooby Doo? There are tons of characters planned — if leakers are to be believed, more than 40 — including fan-favorites like Rick & Morty. You’ll want to save those coins if you’re a F2P player. It costs 2,000 Gold to unlock characters, and you can earn enough with steady play. Here’s how gold and gleamium works.

Currencies Guide | Gold & Gleamium

Gold and gleamium are the two currencies you need to unlock characters and costumes. Here’s a quick rundown of how to earn gleamium, and what gleamium is used for.

  • How To Earn Gold: Earned in-game by leveling up, completing Battle Pass tiers, completing missions, and by finishing battles. Battles give you XP and Gold rewards. You’ll get more gold for leveling up or for getting toasts.

What Is Gold Used For: Gold is used to unlock characters (2,000 Gold), unlock perks, and buy cosmetics.

  • How To Get Gleamium: Gleamium is a Premium currency and (so far) cannot be earned in-game. The only way to get gleamium is to purchase in the in-game store with real money. Gleamium can be purchased in packs of 450 ($4.99), 1,000 ($9.99), 2,200 ($19.99) or 6,000 ($49.99).

What Is Gleamium Used For: Gleamium is used as an alternate currency to unlock characters and can be used to buy cosmetics like legendary skins. Gleamium can be used to purchase the Premium Battle Pass but cannot be used to purchase perks or to level up characters.

Gold and gleamium are your most important resources. If you’re planning on playing a lot of MultiVersus, there’s no reason not to spend extra to unlock every character. Learning new characters is fun, and you’ll need specific classes to complete missions sometimes. Those classes aren’t always available in the free character rotation.
