V Rising: How to Heal | Blood Reserve Guide

May 23, 2022 by Lauren Sayles

Keeping tabs on your health.

Although you take on the role of a deadly vampire in V Rising, there will be enemies trying to get in your way of becoming the next Dracula. The vast open world has many dangers that threaten your survival. Whether you get exposed to sunlight, or you are taking on your first boss fight, you will need to heal. There is more than one way to heal in V Rising. This includes crafting some handy potions and salves, or using an ability.

The simplest way to heal yourself in V Rising is by making use of the Blood Mend ability. By pressing your CTRL key, you will be presented with a wheel where you can find the various skills you will unlock as you progress. Blood Mend is available from the very start and selecting this option will instantly begin healing your vampire.

Stay In Control of Your Blood Reserves When Healing

Before you heal yourself with the Blood Mend, you should find a safe area out of the way of the sun and enemies. While healing, your vampire will hover and you will have to remain still. Moving will cancel the healing process, so make sure you are not leaving yourself vulnerable to attack. Also, using Blood Mend will start to drain away the amount of blood you have stored in your Blood Pool. If you need to raise your Blood Pool reserves, you can feed on an animal, a human, or use an item that can restore blood such as a heart.

Alternatively, if you want to replenish some of your health without draining your Blood Pool, you can craft certain items. One of the first items in the game that is available to craft is a Vermin Salve. If you are looking for short a health boost, this will do just the trick.
