Halo Infinite: How to Get the Clippy Charm

May 5, 2022 by Peter Hunt Szpytek

Hello, old friend.

The new season of Halo Infinite is finally here with the game adding plenty of new content such as game modes and maps. While the game still doesn’t have campaign co-op or Forge mode yet (343 Industries still swears up and down that both are coming at some point in the future,) Halo Infinite‘s second season, Lone Wolves, does feature an item that many fans desperately want: the Clippy Charm.

Clippy is the fondly remembered, oft-forgotten Microsoft helper that would answer user questions when using programs like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint and now the mascot has made its way into Halo Infinite in the form of a weapon charm and a vehicle and Spartan decal. His inclusion has been making the Twitter rounds ever since Halo‘s second season started and many fans are hoping to unlock the items.

How to Get the Clippy Weapon Charm in Halo Infinite

The unfortunate thing about all this is that there isn’t a way to unlock Clippy just yet. When viewing any of the Clippy-related items, the fine print on the screen reads: “Currently unavailable. Released during Season 2.” While not an uncommon message for many of Halo Infinite‘s best cosmetics, it’s still frustrating that it’s been listed with no concrete way to snag it yet.

Players will have no luck when looking through the battle pass either. Clippy doesn’t make an appearance in it which means that he’ll likely be featured as a limited-time item in the digital storefront at some point throughout the season. Similar to cosmetics like the cat ears or “iron man colors” Clippy will be available for a limited time and then likely not sold again for a while.

The one upside to this is that it seems like a safe bet to assume that all of the Clippy cosmetic items will go on sale together to be bought in a bundle. This means that players will be able to snag the weapon charm and decals in a single transaction, hopefully making the price and the wait worth it in the end.
