Top 10 New Gaming Laptops of 2015

August 18, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here are the best gaming laptops you can buy in 2015.

As technology advances, so too do PC gaming laptops. With that in mind, we've put together a list of the top 10 gaming laptops released in 2015 that money can buy. Some of these even run as fast as their powerful desktop counterparts.

Alienware 15

Alienware has created an affordable performance laptop for gaming. That's a first! It even comes with fully customizable lighting options. However, it runs pretty hot, so we recommend getting a fan for it.

  • Intel Core i5 4210 2.9ghz Processor
  • 1000GB Hard drive
  • 8GB DDR3L SDRAM Memory
  • Nvidia GTX 965M with 2GB DDR5

Gigabyte P37X

Though more expensive than the other models on this list, the Gigabyte is one of the slimmest gaming laptops around. Runs cool, too.

  • Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.6-3.6GHz Processor
  • 1000GB Hard drive + 128GB SSD
  • 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM Memory
  • Nvidia GTX 970M with 8GB GDDR5

Razer Blade 2015

As thin as last year's model, the Razer Blade is an upgrade over the 2014 model in almost every way. It works great as a gaming laptop and a multimedia PC thanks to its ultra-high resolution display.

  • Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.6-3.6GHz Processor
  • 256GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • NVidia GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5

Asus ROG G501

Simple and sleek, it's not the thinnest laptop around, but it certainly packs a punch. It even costs less than the other models on this list.

  • Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.6-3.6GHz Processor
  • 512GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • Nvidia GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5

MSI GT72 Dominator Pro G-1438

Quite a mouthful. This laptop carries some beefy specs that make it great for gaming. It feels like a solid, upper-mid range gaming laptop. Though bulky, it offers plenty of room for upgrades and even comes with G-Sync capability.

  • Intel Core i7 5700HQ 2.7-3.5GHz Processor
  • 1000GB SATA + 128 GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • Nvidia GTX 980M 4GB GDDR5

Aorus X5

Another laptop with G-Sync capability, this laptop comes with a 4K display and comes with a ton of storage. The fan's kind of loud and the low battery life put it on par with other gaming laptops (meaning you'll want to plug it into the wall and set it up on a flat surface), but we don't have any other complaints about it.

  • Intel Core i7 5700HQ 2.7-3.5GHz Processor
  • 1000GB SATA + 128GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • NVidia GTX 980M 4GB GDDR5

Alienware 17

The big brother of the Alienware 15 previously on this list, this one comes with really high-end specs. It puts out a lot of heat and the audio quality isn't the best, but it should run games great at 1080p.

  • Intel Core i7 5700HQ 2.7-3.5GHz Processor
  • 1000GB SATA + 512GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • Nvidia GTX 965M x2 (SLI)

MSI Titan GT80 SLI

This one has something special with it: a mechanical keyboard. It's an interesting configuration that takes a bit of getting used to. Another great feature is its upgradability–thanks to its design, you can easily slide off the cover at the top and play around with its insides. Best of all, it doesn't have any heat issues.

  • Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.6GHz Processor
  • 1000GB HArd Drive + 256GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M 8GB GDDR5 x2 (SLI)

Asus G751J (G-Sync)

Offering some beefy specs, this is an upgrade over the previous G751J with support for G-Sync. It has a minimalist design and runs games well. What more could you ask for?

  • Intel Core i7 4720HQ 2.6-3.6GHz Processor
  • 1000GB + 256 GB SSD
  • 24GB DDR3L SDRAM
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M 4GB GDDR5

Origin EON15-X

Massively customizable, this Origin laptop uses a desktop CPU instead of a laptop variant. You're basically running a desktop PC with the form factor of a laptop. With a proper configuration, it runs everything on the highest settings.

  • Intel Core i5 4460K 3.2-3.4GHz Processor
  • Intel Core i7 4790K 4-4.4Ghz Processor
  • 1000GB  + 240GB SSD
  • 8GB DDR3 1333MHz (Base config)
  • 32GB DDR3 1600MHz (Top config)
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M 4GB GDDR5 (Base config)
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M 8GB GDDR5 (Top config)
