Dying Light 2: How To Easily Farm Unique Trophies & Earn Infinite Cash

February 16, 2022 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Go hunting Volatiles with this easy chase method.

The hardest trophies to earn in Dying Light 2 are the Unique Trophies. These drop from the hardest enemies in the game — Volatiles. These fast-moving monsters usually only appear in scripted events, but they can also spawn if your Chase Level increases to Level 4 at night. The Volatiles are even more dangerous in this game, so killing them can be a real challenge. Killing them safely? That’s even harder.

The fans have found a way. There’s an incredibly easy location you can utilize to farm Volatiles and collect their oh-so-rare Unique Trophies. These trophies can be used to upgrade your weapons, making them better and better. You’ll also get a ton of loot with this method — more than you’ll know what to do with. This is both a powerful Unique Trophy farm and just a great way to earn a lot of cash. Just don’t attempt this until you’re pretty far into the game.

How To Farm Volatiles | Unique Trophy & Cash Farming

Before attempting to farm Volatiles, you’ll need the right equipment. Volatiles are very fast and can kill you in a single hit, even late into the game. To deal with them and other annoying zombies, you’ll want to get some long-range weapons.

  • Get the Peacekeeper Crossbow and Throwing Knives. Upgrade the Crossbow as much as possible — the crossbow scales with your current level, so with enough upgrades you can kill a Volatile in one shot.

Once you’re ready, you’ll be able to begin farming Volatiles.

  • Best Way To Farm Volatiles:
    • Go to Metro: Holy Trinity — in this area, zombies will only spawn ahead of you. If you keep your back to the Bazaar, the undead will never spawn behind you, giving you an easy defense position. You’ll want to position yourself near the UV Lights. That way you can retreat if the zombie situation gets too serious. You can step into the light briefly to restore your Immunity Meter, or hide to avoid getting killed.
    • Check nearby to the east to find a Howler. One always spawns — don’t kill it. We’ll be using it to activate Chases. You can return to this Howler to increase the Chase Level when you kill all the Virals. Just get close enough to activate its scream.

Dying will cause you to lose all the loot you’ve accumulated from undead kills. To make staying alive easier, try only reaching Chase Level 3 — at Chase Level 3, you’ll have to deal with Virals and only one Volatile at a time. At Chase Level 4, only Volatiles will spawn, which makes staying alive very difficult. Only activate Chase Level 4 if you’re confident with dealing with multiple Volatiles at the same time.

Don’t start looting until after you’ve stopped the chase. You can also briefly leave the area and return — all the dead bodies will disappear and transform into loot pouches which are way easier to see and collect. Hoover up everything you’ve killed, then fast-travel to the nearest merchant resource to sell or upgrade.
