Marauders [Doom Eternal]
Everyone hates the Marauders in Doom Eternal. This new enemy / mini-boss is the bane of the Doom Slayer’s existence. He was designed to be a foil for the player. Marauders are invulnerable to all attacks until they’re stunned — and stunning can only occur briefly when they’re about to attack. They also summon a burning fire-dog to distract you while you’re busy fighting their super-fast butts.
If it wasn’t for the Extra Lives system introduced in Doom Eternal, players would be reloading saves constantly to deal with Marauders. The Marauder first appears as a boss — then you’ll start fighting them alongside other enemies, and then you’ll sometimes encounter more than one of these guys together! These enemies exist to eat your extra lives. They’re fast, smart, and absolutely the biggest roadblock in an already difficult game.
Majima & Saejima [Yakuza 7]
Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon switches from an action-brawler to a modern day JRPG. And like any good JRPG, there’s at least one boss that nobody is going to beat on their first try. Late in the game, you’ll encounter previous playable heroes Majima and Saejima — the craziest duo of insane Yakuza protagonists. Instead of fighting them separately, you’ll have to deal with them at the same time. And these guys are so tough, just dealing with one of them is a challenge. Both? That’s suicide.
When you first encounter Majima and Saejima, even if you’ve been grinding levels and completing every single side-activity in the game, you’ll still always be about 10~ levels too low. Majima’s spinning blade attack can wipe multiple characters in your party at the same time with a single attack. Then there’s Saejima, who’s almost invulnerable to physical damage. Put these two together, and you’ve got yourself a pretty insane roadblock.
