#6: Basement Killing / The Graveyard Shift / Jacuzzi Job [Hitman 2: Silent Assassin]
The Malaysia trio of maps in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin are some of the most memorable. All three together are kind of like a single map in HITMAN 1 or HITMAN 2 — so I’m cheating and including all three here. You start in the lobby of a huge corporation, figuring out how to breach security and take out the security manager in a basement littered with chip bags that alert him to your sneaking.
Then you’re sent up into the skyscraper offices, where you need to cross a skybridge and access a rich man’s penthouse filled with armed guards. It’s the kind of infiltration we love. This is also one of the very few missions in the game with female guards — sorry, those outfits won’t fit Agent 47.
#5: The Finish Line [HITMAN 2]
The starting level of HITMAN 2 is another ticking clock mechanism — a racing is going down, and you’ll have to move fast intervene. You can pretend to be the pit crew and wreck opponents to help your target win, then sabotage the fireworks at the victory podium to take him out. If you’re really feeling lucky, you can actually shoot the racing target on the track!
Then there’s the Event Center nearby. You can swap places with an Army General and lead your target into a deadly live-fire training exercise on a robotic shooting range. It’s absolutely over-the-top, but that’s what we love about Agent 47. This level also features another silly costume — a pink flamingo suit you can steal. Perform a few extra steps, and you can turn everyone on the map into a flamingo. Easter eggs are always worth bonus points in my ranking.
The Hitman countdown continues on the next page.
