10 Hard-To-Get Weapons & Items That Absolutely Were Not Worth Unlocking

November 3, 2020 by Kevin Thielenhaus

When all your hard work just doesn’t pay off. Here’s some of the weapons, items, and armor we regret earning.

Complimentary ID [Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker]

Beedle is the little shopkeeper you just keep running into in Legend of Zelda games — and his most annoying trick appears in Wind Waker. The purveyor of Beedle’s Shop Ship, this traveling salesman offers a Membership Card which earns a stamp for every purchase. Normally you don’t need to buy too much from this guy — but you might want to reach the Silver or Gold Membership status. What rewards are waiting for you, you might wonder!

Well, if you do manage to buy 30 items from Beedle, you’ll get the Silver Membership upgrade and a special Compliment ID item. This card is shipped straight to you and can be exchanged to Beedle for your reward. The Compliment ID will get you one compliment — literally, Beedle says something nice about Link, and fills up your hearts. That’s it. I feel like I’ve been trolled.

Staminan Spork [Yakuza 0]

Series MC Kiryu takes a break in Yakuza 0, sharing protagonist duties with the mad dog Goro Majima in a new crime-riddled corner of Japan. Majima is a fan-favorite character, and naturally he can get one of the weirdest items in the entire series — Staminan Spork. The normal variants of Staminan heal and boost your HEAT special meter, but Staminan Spork is a little different. Instead of healing, using it deals huge damage and completely drains your special meter.

Staminan Spork can’t be purchased. It can only be found in the battle against Jo Amon — a special final boss that only appears if you’ve completed every single substory for Goro Majima. Jo Amon isn’t just a powerful fighter — he also has his own Amon-Brand Tissues and the aforementioned Staminan Spork. He’ll throw the items at you, filling your inventory with useless and harmful items. You don’t have to use them, but man does it take a lot of work to get them.
