The Hunchbacks Of Notre Dumb [Castlevania]
Worse than the birds and bats were the hunchback creatures in Castlevania. These hopping-mad maniacs are a staple of the series — tiny guys in the vein of Igor from Frankenstein, and they appear in more of the Castlevania games that we can count. They’re always annoying, but they’re never more deadly than in the original.
They move in erratic, unpredictable patterns. They jump. They’re really small, so they’re hard to hit. They’re basically the nightmare of enemy types — like the crawling hands from Blood, or the dogs from any video game ever. These are the ur-example of skittering little annoying things we hate.
Perfect Snipers On Legendary [Halo 2]
Halo 2 takes the fight to earth in its best early levels, but there’s one section we hate with an absolute passion — the sniper alley. This slow crawl through the streets is hard on any difficulty, but on Legendary the snipers are perfect shots.
These guys will hit you the split-second you step into their line-of-sight, which is everywhere. That wouldn’t be so bad if you weren’t dealing with multiples at the same time, meaning you’ll just get blasted out of nowhere by multiple pin-point accurate lasers. The sniper aliens in Halo 2 ruined plenty of Legendary runs.
