Discover some of gaming’s most hilarious, ridiculous and obscure tricks for defeating those annoying boss battles.

The Knife Versus Krauser [Resident Evil 4]

Krauser is a late-game boss that kicks my butt in Resident Evil 4. During the climactic showdown with this insane military man, you’ll be dodging drones and avoiding incoming SMG fire — a very different experience from the zombie-like villagers you usually fight.

The hardest part is at the end of the sequence, where Krauser grows a monster-ified arm and you’ve only got a few minutes to fight him before the arena explodes. There’s one trick I never once considered. You can just use the knife. The knife is absurdly powerful against Krauser. Like, your fully-charged Magnum doesn’t compare to the humble knife. Who would’ve guessed!

Zapping Draygon [Super Metroid]

Draygon is a boss I dreaded as a kid. This ugly underwater menace latches onto Samus and drains her health bar. Not only is Draygon fast, it’ll leech you faster than a barrage of Super Missiles. Thankfully, there was a trick whispered across school lunch tables. A sneaky way to beat this boss easily.

When Draygon latches onto Samus, the intergalactic bounty hunter can use her Grapple Beam to snag an exposed wire, sending electrical volts straight into Daygon and blasting her for huge damage. If you stick near those exposed electricity conduits, Draygon goes from being a nightmare to a cinch.
