#7: Refine (Final Fantasy 8)
The Refine ability is infamously exploitable in FF8, and one of the easiest ways to give your characters an insane of HP is with simple tents. Once you have the Siren GF, you can use it’s Life Refine ability to turn tents — a common cheap healing item — into curaga spells. Make 100 Curagas, junction those to characters, and your party members will get 3,000 HP.
This is all possible right at the very start of the game, and it’s absurdly broken. You can buy a bunch of Tents from Balamb. It doesn’t take long to get the Elemental Refine ability, which can refine Firaga from Wizard Stones. Slap those on your toughest character to give them a massive STR boost. Was this intended? It couldn’t be, right?
#8: SP Adhesives (Persona 5)
We go from absurdly broken to mildly broken. SP Adhesives are items you can buy to boost your SP in Persona 5 — SP is basically your MP in the game, and there are very few items that can recover it. You’ll have to boost your confidant rank with the doctor Tae Takemi to unlock SP Adhesives for purchase, but it doesn’t take that long if you focus on her.
And SP Adhesives are absurdly useful. With these, you’ll be able to make it much, much further in dungeons — it’s possible to complete dungeons in (basically) one night, instead of the three, four, or more it might take you normally. The faster you can complete Palaces, the more time you’ll have to build up those confidants! It’s a win-win scenario.
