Trials Rising: How To Get The Secret Diamond Squirrel | Easter Egg Guide

March 4, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Solve a series of riddles in a secret underground chamber to unlock the highly-coveted, completely-secretive Diamond squirrel.

Trials Rising includes some pretty wacky secrets — but nothing tops the Diamond Squirrel collectible. This challenging pest has been the talk of the Trials community since the game’s initial release. To get it, you’ll need to complete a series of grueling trials (no pun intended) in an underground temple filled with traps and puzzles. Just unlocking the temple itself is a challenge, but we’ve got all the information you need to break in with the complete guide below.

Redlynx puts a lot of effort into these Easter eggs and hidden mini-games. There’s a secret collectible in every single area — and some of the best include a bonus track area. One of the tracks features a hidden developer room, with a miniature rider driving through a massive Redlynx office. There are space launch cutscenes, underwater mazes, jump-jet obstacle courses, and lots more. And there’s usually a hidden collectible waiting at the end.

How To Get The Secret Diamond Squirrel | Easter Egg Guide

The Diamond Squirrel is the biggest secret in Trials Rising, and there are a few requirements before you can unlock it.

  • To unlock the Diamond Squirrel, you’ll first need to find all 61 Gold Squirrels. The puzzle chambers will not unlock until you’ve completed this step.
    • Find all the locations in the guide linked above.
  • You’ll need three codes, unlocked in three stages — you don’t actually need to memorize the codes, they’ll be written down in the correct order below.
    • The codes are found on three levels: Stonehenge, Temple of Trials, and Rally of the Kings.

When you’ve located all the collectibles, you can finally unlock this super-secret Easter egg. Here’s how to do it.

  • To get the Diamond Squirrel, go to the Motocross Madness track. Reach the seesaw platform at Checkpoint #5 and reverse backwards to find a lift below. Roll onto it and ride down.
    • In the temple , the first door will only open once you’ve collected all 61 gold squirrels.
  •  Complete the track, and you’ll reach another room with three codes.
    • The codes are located in three tracks — Rally of the Kings, Temple of Trials, and Stonehenge. Each code is located at the end of the hidden squirrel track. Input the codes by leaning left, right, down or up.
      • Stonehenge: Right, Left, Down, Right
      • Rally of the Kings: Down, Left, Up, Down
      • Temple of Trials: Left, Right, Up, Right
  •  Unlock the doors, and you’ll have to complete another tricky track. At the end, you’ll find the Diamond Squirrel.

And that’s it! The trick is inputting the correct codes. The codes are found in the background images in the three tracks listed above — these areas were totally secret, and only accessible after pressing a hidden squirrel button that opens the entrance door.

For a silly game about riding motorcycles, Redlynx always goes the extra mile with insane secrets like this. I for one appreciate it.
