7 Guest Fighters Gamers Demand In Mortal Kombat 11

December 28, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

Who will join the fight?

Mortal Kombat 11 was a surprise announcement during The Game Awards 2018. NetherRealm Studios is bringing out a brand new installment to the long-running franchise. This upcoming title doesn’t have too many details out yet but from the only teaser released, it appears that there will be a play on manipulating time which features past character designs. Coming off of Mortal Kombat X, there are plenty of gamers interested in seeing just what new guest fighters will make an appearance in the installment and we recently asked on our Facebook page just what characters our followers were wanting in the upcoming game. From that list, we tossed out seven of the more popular characters down below.

These characters are simply requests from fans and nothing has been officially confirmed or denied by the studio yet. In fact, supposed leaks were released online though Ed Boon, the director of Mortal Kombat 11 seems to have denied these leaks as being legitimate so for now, we’ll simply have to wait and see just who shows up to fight. What do you think of these fighters below? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.

#7 Terminator

The Terminator is an iconic character thanks to Arnold Schwarzenegger. This android is cold and precise with his decisions making him a killing machine that won’t stop until his mechanical heart is torn apart. We can totally see why gamers would love a chance to become this character and better yet how he would control within the game. What we don’t know is just how his fatality would rank up with the other fighters. For the most part, we know the Terminator as just an overpowered human-like character that sports a shotgun. Though as a result, he can definitely take a beating and not be phased by it.

Perhaps we can see the development team make use of his motorcycle and of course deliver a fury of attacks. Likewise, this character has been iconic for decades and easily recognizable so this would be a pretty safe bet to add him into the roster and get plenty of interested players purchasing the DLC pack he’s included in.

#6 Doom Guy

Come on you pretty much have to include Doom Guy right? Doom is back and better than ever thanks to the recent reboot and the upcoming sequel. As a result, everyone has witnessed just how powerful Doom Guy is in comparison to other space marines. Anyone who is willing to go into the depth of Hell and deliver a beating to any demon that shows its ugly face has my vote to be included in Mortal Kombat 11. However, this is another interesting character that would be neat to see just how NetherRealm Studios handles his character in the game.

For the most part, Doom is played as a standard FPS. But thanks to the reboot, we have seen Doom Guy perform some insane melee attacks and finishers. So would we see Doom Guy forfeit his weapons and fight using his fists? With that said, we can see the BFG being used as the ultimate executing finisher for this character.

#5 Venom

Another character that has been voiced online is Venom. This sentient alien symbiote which has invaded the Spider-Man comics since the 1980s is easily a fan favorite. There’s definitely a tricky aspect of adding the character into the game but fighting wise, we can see it working. The character is already strong and it comes with some unique powers, similar to Spider-Man. Not to mention that with the blockbuster movie out, there are plenty of people familiar with the character right now.  Really, the big question here is will Marvel allow their character to be included in a Mortal Kombat installment.

#4 Deadpool

To go in hand with our previous point, another character that has come up online is Deadpool. This one would probably have an easier time being included in Mortal Kombat thanks to the vulgarity we’ve come to know from this antihero. Deadpool may be capable using a number of weapons but for the most part, we’re used to seeing him attacking his foes with swords, plus the one-liners he can deliver throughout the fight would make him a rather annoying character to deal with, just like how most characters view him in the Marvel franchise.

#3 Pennywise

Pennywise has made a big comeback after the remake of It. This character has terrified generations of children so why wouldn’t he appear in Mortal Kombat and take his rage towards opponents. Because this character also can turn into quite a few different forms, all terrifying, this character and Mortal Kombat is a match made in heaven. There’s even a sequel for the film coming out so it could be a great opportunity for Warner Brothers to capitalize on the character by having him appear in the upcoming Mortal Kombat video game.

#2 Chucky

There’s plenty of upcoming films that are rebooting past classics or characters such as the fan favorite slasher, Chucky. Everyone’s favorite killer doll has terrified children for years since it first came into theaters and a new reboot is in the works so could this be an opportunity of bringing over the character in Mortal Kombat 11? Gamers online have expressed their interest in taking on the role of Chucky with a butcher knife as he slices his way through opponents. However, this is also becoming a controversial character online in regards to being a guest fighter in Mortal Kombat 11. Would you like to see Chucky featured in the game or is he a hard pass?

#1 Spawn

Okay, this one looks like it will be a guest character already. The infamous comic book character has a massive following and through a recent Reddit AMA, Todd McFarlane the creator of Spawn pretty much confirmed that the character would be present in Mortal Kombat 11. Spawn itself is attempting to make a new comeback with a movie coming out in 2019. As of the time of writing this article, NetherRealm Studios has yet to make any statements regarding Spawn being a guest character in Mortal Kombat 11. In fact, there’s quite a bit tucked away from the public in regards to the upcoming title.
