#5 Resident Evil 6: Premium Edition
For some fans, Resident Evil 6 is one of the worst titles in the franchise and to others, it’s an incredible blockbuster release. At the time, Capcom was moving away from the survival horror aspect of Resident Evil in favor of a more brutal action-packed installment. Gamers were going around levels blasting away grotesque enemies with a few puzzles and there wasn’t very much of a need to secure ammo for a future battle. Now we know that Capcom has gone back to its roots by delivering OG Resident Evil fans with a new survival-horror installment that is Resident Evil 7 and we’re now gearing towards the release of Resident Evil 2 remake.
However, if you’re a big fan of the Resident Evil franchise to begin with or the Leon Kennedy character in particular then you might have been swayed to drop some money on the Resident Evil 6: Premium Edition. This edition came with a game but also a replica leather jacket that Leon sports within the installment. As a result, this genuine leather jacket would have set the game back $1,300 which is certainly no drop in the bucket. It’s also a bit of an unusual edition and its one that hasn’t popped up on eBay in order to see just how much it’s selling for today.
#4 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – Fortune Hunter Edition
We spoke of Naughty Dog already in this list with The Last of Us: The Post-Pandemic Edition. There are a few franchises the development studio is known for but one of the instantly recognized franchises as of late would be Uncharted. The series took inspiration from Indiana Jones films and crafted up a treasure hunter going towards the far reaches of the world solving riddles, puzzles and fighting against an army of enemies or supernatural elements. Most found the various video games to be outstanding with a cinematic feel and after four main installments, there are a few collector’s editions that you may personally be hunting for. However, the fabled treasure form this series is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – Fortune Hunter Edition.
Just like the video game narratives for each installment, the Fortune Hunter Edition is almost an unreachable treasure that is easily sought after by hardcore collectors. This edition comes with a copy of the game, signed by Naughty Dog developers and a replica of Phurba Dagger Artifact with its own stand. There were only a few of these made and you couldn’t actually purchase it. Instead, gamers would have a chance to win a unit. As a result, this collector’s edition would easily break a few thousand dollars though it’s hard to really put a value on this piece. They don’t just pop up on eBay listings and as a result, you’ll have to deal with a collector in order to make a trade or purchase.
#3 Grid 2: Mono Edition Car
Grid 2 was a well-received racing video game developed by Codemasters. With several decades of vehicles being represented, players were able to race across different real-world locations while competing in challenges to unlock new vehicles and while we don’t typically see too many outlandish collector’s edition releases for racing titles, Grid 2 proved that not only can racing games come out with an over-the-top edition, but one that is still ranked as one of the most expensive collector’s editions to ever release.
Let us introduce to you the Grid 2: Mono Edition that grants you a copy of the game and an actual race car. This copy will give you a Mono which is a street legal formula racing car with included racing suit and helmet. One way to look at it is that you’re getting a copy of Grid 2 for free with the purchase of this car. Or better yet, just buy Grid 2 and enjoy virtually driving this behemoth of a vehicle.
#2 Dying Light: My Apocalypse Edition
Dying Light was developed and released by Techland in 2015. After the release of Dead Island, Techland went back and created a bleaker world filled with zombies that were harder to deal with at certain points of the day. The game went on to be a well-received title that sparked interest in Techland to developing a sequel that is slated to launch in 2019. Though as the game was getting closer to its release, Techland revealed one massive collector’s edition known as My Apocalypse Edition. This would set gamers back an astonishing $386,000 but it does come with provided lessons on parkour. Yes, you too could invade the zombie threat by vaulting over obstacles and making leaps across buildings. Additionally, the developers would put your face in the game.
Outside of some the perks and goodies of this edition, the real reason My Apocalypse Edition costs so much is the custom built a zombie-proof shelter. If doomsday ever came, one user would have a shelter built and could be ready to bunker down for the long haul.
#1 Saints Row IV: Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition
And now for the current most expensive collector’s edition to have ever released, we give you Saint’s Row IV: Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition. If you enjoy the over-the-top wacky action from the Saints Row series then you might have guessed there would have been a super over-the-top wacky collector’s edition. With only one copy available, a gamer who had a million dollars to throw around could have had some fun. This edition would give you everything from Virgin Galactic space flight, a full-size replica of the Dub-Step gun, plastic surgery, a personal shopper, a seven-night stay at the top royal suite of Burj-Al-Arab, Dubai, first-class flights to Washington DC and Dubai, hostage rescue experience, spy training day, a week for two at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington DC, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a new Toyota Prius, insurance covered for a year and a year’s supercar membership.
However, if you already have a million dollars to throw around at a video game, chances are you could do all of this without the help of a collector’s edition. So far we don’t think anyone actually purchased this edition but that doesn’t surprise us.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Collector’s Edition
Come on you all know about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This game won’t go away and for good reason too, it’s just that good! After launching back 2011 the title continues to thrive with new releases such as a port made for the Nintendo Switch. We shouldn’t have to spend very much time on this game at all but for the most part, players craft their own character with attributes and skills that will complement their gameplay style. In the fantasy open world, you’ll find a wide assortment of guilds, factions and random NPCs all that have their own pleas and requests for you to complete. At the heart of it all, you find yourself to be one of the last Dragonborn making it a grand quest to discover just what that means in this world riddled with innocents trying to live during a civil war.
While many of us had played the game on one platform or another, far fewer will own an original collector’s edition. As normal you received the game but also a map, art book, a DVD showing the making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and lastly, an Alduin Statue. This collector’s edition can still be found used but a new sealed copy will cost you around $300 whereas it originally would have set you back about $150. We imagine this game will continue to rise in price especially once the next main installment finally makes its way onto store shelves, but that’s not going to happen until after the next generation consoles release.
