30 Games of 2019 That Will Blow Your Mind

December 11, 2018 by Dennis Patrick

2019 is shaping up to be a year for the video game industry.

#15 Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
  • Developer: FromSoftware
  • Publisher: Activision
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: March 22, 2019

FromSoftware, known best for their Souls series, has a brand new upcoming title known as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This is a third-person RPG title with brutal samurai-style swordplay. So far we know that the game will have players take the role of a shinobi who finds his lord was kidnapped. During the scuffle, our protagonist was left battered along with his arm severed.

Thanks to a busshi our shinobi manages to keep his life. In place of his missing arm is a prosthetic that players will be able to equip different gadgets and tools to use again enemies. While the developers FromSoftware may be best known for their Souls series lately, it appears that the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be a bit different in terms of gameplay and mechanics.

Most of the RPG elements from the Souls series such as classes and character creation will be dropped. Likewise, it seems that stealth is playing a bigger role in the game but we’re still waiting to hear more about the game.

#14 Ghost of Tsushima
  • Developer: Sucker Punch
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe
  • Platforms: PS4
  • Release: Expected 2019

Ghost of Tsushima is a brand new IP from developers Sucker Punch. These are the same creators who have brought out other notable titles on the PlayStation platform such as Sly Cooper and the Infamous series. This latest title takes players back into an ancient setting within Japan.

The year is 1274 and the Samurai have been quickly taken out by the Khan forces that invaded the island. Jin is one of the very last samurai left and it’s his duty to take down this seemingly unstoppable Khan force from destroying his home.

However, with his samurai brothers fallen from the attacks, Jin quickly learns that the traditional ways of combat won’t save those he love. Instead, Jin must become a ghost and use unconventional tactics to win this war.

#13 Devil May Cry 5
  • Developer: Capcom
  • Publisher: Capcom
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: 2019

Devil May Cry is back with a brand new fifth main installment. The unveil came during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference where developers promised a fun hack-and-slash action-packed journey that fans have been craving since the release of Devil May Cry 4. What we know about the game so far is that years have passed since hell’s creatures had stepped foot on the world but now a new demonic invasion has begun. The game should be released within Spring of 2019.

#12 Crackdown 3
  • Developer: Reagant Games, Sumo Digital
  • Publisher: Microsoft Studios
  • Platforms: PC, XBO
  • Release: February 22, 2019

Crackdown 3 is another video game title we’ve been patiently waiting to release and it seems that 2019 will be the year that the game will be ready to hit store shelves. Players will once again step into the shoes of an agent who is dealing with a new terrorist organization.

Players will find that the game is centered around destruction as the game is filled with structures and buildings that can be completely demolished. With gamers waiting a number of years now since the release of Crackdown 2, we’re hoping that the gameplay experience can match the hype and anticipation built up for the game.

#11 Days Gone
  • Developer: SIE Bend Studio
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Platforms: PS4
  • Release: 2019

Days Gone was originally slated to launch in 2018 however, it has since been delayed for the upcoming year. Developed by SIE Bend Studio, this video game title is set in a post-apocalyptic world where much of humanity has been turned into zombie-like creatures.
