#10 Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
- Developer: Treyarch
- Publisher: Activision
There seems to never be any shortages when it comes to the Call of Duty franchise and this year we’re getting a new installment to the Black Ops line. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be launching in October of this year though there is one rather major element being completely dropped with this upcoming installment.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not contain a campaign mode. In the day and age of battle royale modes being incredibly popular, Treyarch has decided to make this next call of the Duty title to feature nothing but a multiplayer component.
The focus will be doubling down on the multiplayer game modes including Zombies. So if you’re a fan of Call of Duty for their online multiplayer matches then you have nothing to worry about in this installment but with that said, if you picked up the latest installments to enjoy the action-packed campaigns then you may have to hold out for the 2019 installment release.
#9 Diablo III

- Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment
The third installment of the Diablo series by developers Blizzard Entertainment made its way to PC, but also consoles. Playing out much like its predecessors, gamers pick one of six possible character classes and begin their journey of taking on quests and grabbing up precious loot. Of course, the game works best when you gather a group of friends to go through this action RPG hack-and-slash title.
#8 Cuphead

- Publisher: StudioMDHR
Cuphead, developed by StudioMDHR Entertainment, is a run and gun platform indie title. Overall, the narrative follows Cuphead and his brother Mugman, as they end up making a terrible bet against the devil. Losing the bet, Cuphead and Mugman are forced to give their souls to the devil, but it seems that our protagonist duo can save themselves if they go out and collect debts owed to the devil.
The devil has a number of souls that are owed to him by other sorrowful cartoon characters. If Cuphead and Mugman can go out and collect all the souls then the devil may just allow them to keep their own souls in return.
#7 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Developer: Bandai Namco Games
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: December 7, 2018
The latest installment to Super Smash Bros. is titled Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it features a massive roster of fighters. Nintendo brought back every character featured within a Super Smash Bros. video game and its including additional fighters through DLC outside of the already new additional fighters such as Splatoon Inklings, Simon Belmont and King K. Rool. If you enjoyed the series then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t pick this game up as it’s quickly a must buy for the Nintendo Switch and likely a reason gamers picked up the console to begin with.
#6 Overwatch
- Developer: Blizzard Entertainment
- Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment
Overwatch is a Blizzard-developed team-based multiplayer shooter surrounded around heroes. We’ve seen a few of these video game titles based on heroes and their various abilities launch into the market lately though it still seems that Overwatch remains one of the best video game hero shooters to purchase.
There’s a variety of game modes to play which may have you tweaking your role, character classes and of course strategy within the team. Likewise, the development team behind Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment, will introduce new heroes into the mix.
Unfortunately, there’s no dedicated singleplayer game mode to enjoy at your leisure as the game instead is focused on multiplayer battles. With that said, if you have a few friends who enjoy competitive FPS titles then this is a must-have.
