Black Ops 4: Blackout – Check Out All 14 Areas & What They’re Based On | Map Guide

October 10, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Take a tour of Blackout, the new Battle Royale map built for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, with our rundown of all 14 locations. Here’s what you can expect, and what old maps they’re referencing.

#13: Factory

  • References: Factory (Call of Duty: Finest Hour)

The dusty factory is a cluster of buildings connected by train in the desert biome. The central factory itself is huge, with large multi-level rooms. Using parkour, you can find some clever paths up to the second floor — try using the pipes to scramble up balconies instead of the stairs.

Like most of the huge, complex areas, you’ll have to watch your corners and be prepared for close-quarters combat. Doors block visibility in many of the side-chambers, and each area seems to have 3-4 entrances and exits. Once you’re inside the factory, it feels just like playing a classic Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer map.

#14: Lighthouse

  • References: Lighthouse (Black Ops 1 DS), Call of the Dead (Black Ops 1), Mob of the Dead (Black Ops 2)

This tiny area on the edge of the map doesn’t seem to serve much purpose. There’s a nice lighthouse to explore, but not much else. Reaching the top does not give you a good shooting vantage point, and zombies frequently spawn here with a Mystery Box. The tiny area is extremely enclosed once you cross the natural land bridge to reach it.

There’s a small house, a small dock, and a tall red lighthouse. That’s really it — and it looks exactly like the “Call of the Dead” lighthouse seen in the distance. It doesn’t seem that spooky, but when you’re carefully going upstairs, it can be just as intense even when there are no zombies lurking around.
