#7: Asylum
- References: Verruckt (Black Ops 1)
An awesomely spooky site, the Asylum is a large two-story building with open, long rooms and a courtyard in the center. There’s a smaller two-story mansion on the outside of the grounds, and even a hedge maze you can explore if you’re feeling suicidal. This area is a common Mystery Box spawn, and zombies like to lurk around — you’ll even find Zombies-only weapons like the Ray Gun, the Essex, the Zweihander or the Cymbal Monkey here.
Just outside the Asylum, there’s a less-frequented cemetery. This place is broad and wide-open, but packed with items to collect. Nobody seems to visit the cemetery unless there’s a Mystery Box here, so you can (sometimes) steal from the dead and reap the benefits.
#8: Nuketown Island
- References: Nuketown Zombies (Black Ops 2), Nuketown (Black Ops 1)
One of the coolest locations in the game, Nuketown Island is a burned-out husk of its former self. Based on one of the longest-running Black Ops maps, Nuketown’s original form can be found at a dead end street where two destroyed buildings are bifurcated by a bus and an empty truck. That’s your classic version of Nuketown, but there’s a whole more to explore.
Nuketown is now a huge area, lined with nuked, one-story ranches. This is a popular drop spot, so it devolves into chaos quickly before people rush for the only two exit bridges. A helicopter will sometimes spawn here — and you can find three entrances to a retro-themed bunker down below. There’s even a Tranzit-themed diner!
