It’s the final stretch in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker — we’ve reached Episode 3. We’re showing you how to find all the super gems and how to complete all the bonus objectives in the last section of the game, and it’s getting a whole lot harder. Gems are more hidden, and some of these bonus objectives are cruel.
There are nine more levels than usual in Episode 3, so it’s going to take a lot of explanation to get through all this. It’s an entire half-Episode in length, and those ending nine are brutal. You’ll face off against Wingo and his minions, while struggling to collect all the coins — coin hunts are usually the most challenging task, and the final coin bonus objective is cruel if you don’t know where to find both gold mushrooms.

There are three hidden Super Gems in every level. Finding them can be challenging, so learn where to look to find all of them in the complete list of locations below.
- Rolling Inferno
- Super Gem #1: Near the yellow lift. Ride it down and enter a hidden passage to reach the Super Gem in the middle of the level.
- Super Gem #2: Drop down onto the yellow platform that’s moving horizontally. From here, you can access an underground path to a Super Gem.
- Super Gem #3: Right in the top-middle of the level. Move down the long path of spinning green platforms to reach it.
- Bonus Objective: Simply collect all the coins you see in the level — the tricky part is getting all 75 without dying.
- Seesaw Sizzle
- Super Gem #1: On the second seesaw, go down and find the path to a ladder. Near the ladder, pull the root to find a gem.
- Super Gem #2: Past the second Spike enemy, you’ll need to drop down and enter a passage. The gem is hidden inside this passage, underneath the last gem.
- Super Gem #3: The last gem is under the last seesaw. Wait for the spike ball to roll, then rush under the seesaw to get it.
- Bonus Objective: To complete the level without defeating any of the Spikes, you need to time your movement so you don’t ever jump. Jumping will always knock out the Spikes. Instead, stand on the edge and use the seesaws like a ramp.
- Beep Block Sky Plaza
- Super Gem #1: Hidden in the middle of the level, inside the turquoise beep block path. Throw a turnip to collect it.
- Super Gem #2: In a small alcove near the starting spot. Backtrack to the other side of the fence and enter the alcove when the raspberry beep blocks are active.
- Super Gem #3: The last gem is on the block with the Hammer Brother throwing fireballs. Defeat him and pull the root to get the last gem.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level without taking any damage. Tap the Hammer Brother to keep him from attacking.
- Pickax Cave Plummet
- Super Gem #1: Get a pickax powerup and drop into the water at the start of the stage. Break through the stone block to get the gem.
- Super Gem #2: Seen on the right in the second vertical shaft area. Bring a pickax powerup down to break through the stones.
- Super Gem #3: At the last vertical shaft, bring a pickax and break all the way down to the bottom-left where there’s a raised platform to the left of the level exit. Break through to find the last gem.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level without breaking any stone blocks. Don’t collect any pickax powerups, and navigate down to the bottom to win.
- Stumpy Springs Sanctuary
- Super Gem #1: Drop down to the water beneath the tree to find a small cave with a gem.
- Super Gem #2: The second gem is in the log at the top of the level.
- Super Gem #3: After dropping onto the P-Switch, drop onto the small path to reach one last Super Gem.
- Bonus Objective: The hidden Gold Mushroom is on top of the log with two patrolling ant enemies. Drop onto it from the spinning log at the top.
- Biddybud Snow Stroll
- Super Gem #1: Pull the single root on a space at the top of the level, on the ice sheets.
- Super Gem #2: Drop down from the corner next to the two roots on the outer wall of the ice sheets to land on this gem.
- Super Gem #3: In the middle of the underground, look for an area blocked by three enemies.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level without breaking through the ice. Just follow the biddybuds’ path and you’ll never fall through.
- Cagey Conkdor Caper
- Super Gem #1: In front of the third conkdor.
- Super Gem #2: After raising the three conkdors, break through the three stone blocks and pull the single root.
- Super Gem #3: Found on the outside of the spinning cylinder. Don’t drop inside — stay on the exterior and spin it to get this tricky gem.
- Bonus Objective: The hidden gold mushroom is on the high landing opposite the stack of coins, near the exit star.
- Up ‘n’ Down Desert
- Super Gem #1: On the single root next to the shooting enemy, in the corner at the start of the stage.
- Super Gem #2: At the end of the path after climbing up to the mid-tier of the level. Set the P-Switches so that you can cross.
- Super Gem #3: Near the end, use the last enemy to throw and hit the gem floating to the right.
- Bonus Objective: Clear the stage after only using the switches eight times — hit one switch to lower the stones, then go through the enemy instead of hitting any other switches. Continue up until you’re forced to hit one. To exit, hit the P-Switch near the shooter, then follow the ramps up.
- Mine Cart Ruins Rumble
- Super Gem #1: On the second minecart ride, break through the stone block pyramid.
- Super Gem #2: After that, defeat all the Mud Troopers with the POW block to reveal a hidden gem in a hole in the back.
- Super Gem #3: Going down, you’ll find a POW block and a whole series of ? blocks. Past that, look up and left behind a pillar. There’s a gem above a line of blocks.
- Bonus Objective: Remember the POW block between all the ?’s? That’s where the 1-Up Mushroom appears. Aim for the POW block, then aim left to hit the green mushroom just as it appears. It’s hard to hit when it starts falling.
- Multi-Vator Mayhem
- Super Gem #1: In the underground with the “4” platform, pull the roots to get a pickaxe, allowing you to break through the stone blocks hiding a gem.
- Super Gem #2: Step onto the “4” platform with four Toadies to ride the lift up to a gem, located above the exit star.
- Super Gem #3: Drop down onto the raised green area with the tree. Pull the single root to get this gem.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the course with five toads. Don’t get hit, and grab all four cherries.
- Flip Panel Footpath
- Super Gem #1: On falling platforms, available after activating the first flip panel footpath.
- Super Gem #2: At the third flip panel footpath, activate both to reach the three falling platforms with a super gem.
- Super Gem #3: Climb the ladder at the third footpath and pull the roots to reveal a hidden gem.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the course with 45 gold coins — don’t miss the invisible coins under the exit star, or on the ledge near the exit star. Pull all the roots and enter the small hallway in the second tower, too.
- Rock Block Badlands
- Super Gem #1: Found right above the starting spot, on a small tower. Climb the ladder on the back to reach it, or shoot it with a cannon.
- Super Gem #2: Use the left turnip cannon to shoot all the stone rocks, to reach the back-right gem.
- Super Gem #3: Aim very carefully with the right turnip cannon and shoot through the small minaret. It doesn’t seem like you can shoot through it, but you can.
- Bonus Objective: Fire only ten times to clear the path you need to exit. Use the right cannon and shoot to clear the path for the ladders. Then switch to the left and break the last few blocks to the third ladder.
- Secret of the Golden Realm
- Super Gem #1: At the touch platforms, use the third platform near the first door. Tap it to reach the gem above the door.
- Super Gem #2: Past the second set of doors on the touch platforms, use the footpath and run onto the dropping platforms.
- Super Gem #3: After another pipe launcher, find the gem above a touch platform with a door.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level in 10 touches or less. When entering the doors, you have time to move the platforms.
- Shy Guy Shadow Den
- Super Gem #1: On the second level, find the gem up a ladder in the optional room down the hallway.
- Super Gem #2: Light the unlit brazier with the fire-spitting piranha plant on the third floor.
- Super Gem #3: Enter the room adjacent to the star exit. There’s a root with a key that allows you to access the purple pipe.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level without being spotted by Shy Guys. Turn off your light, or they’ll see your lamp in the dark.
- Razzle-Dazzle Slider Den
- Super Gem #1: Found in the bottom-right corner of the pinball machine. Drop through the hole in the upper-right corner, then enter the upper pipe launcher.
- Super Gem #2: Fall into the upper square hole to get the gem below.
- Super Gem #3: Found in the middle spinning gold obstacle. Tap the spinning obstacle to make it stop.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level without falling into any of the holes — avoid the two upper holes and the two in the center at the bottom.
- Poison Canal Cannon Run
- Super Gem #1: Reach the bottom-left corner of the level with two Toadettes. Hit both P-Switches to make the gem appear.
- Super Gem #2: On the way to the exit, in the corner with the two archways, look for the cherry and the Super Gem.
- Super Gem #3: Reach the final solid island with three Toadettes to activate the “3” platform.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level with all four Toadettes.
- Fright Train Flight
- Super Gem #1: Found on the roof of the first train car, near the football enemy.
- Super Gem #2: On the second train car, look on the outer edge of the crate passage.
- Super Gem #3: Lure the football enemy onto the third train car so he can smash through the rock blocks. When the rock blocks are destroyed, you can climb the ladder to the gem.
- Bonus Objective: Lure the football enemy across the level, using him to destroy all the Mud Troopers.
- No Sleep At Magikoopa Keep
- Super Gem #1: On the second level of the tower, accessible from the stumper enemies.
- Super Gem #2: Pull the root on the second level to get the key, then throw the key onto the yellow lift. Go up to the third floor to find the locked door.
- Super Gem #3: On the top level, drop down onto the stumpers to access the interior room with roots. Pull all the roots to find a gem.
- Bonus Objective: Collect 190 coins to complete this challenge — several coins are near the entrance, and a pile is behind the tower. Pull all the roots, and check all the corners of the tower for invisible coins.
- Retro Ramp-Up
- Super Gem #1: Behind the double-wide door on the first ramp. Climb the ladder in the back-area to reach it.
- Super Gem #2: Use the seesaw launcher to reach the next platform, then drop down and enter the single optional door.
- Super Gem #3: Near the exit star, break through the blocks and then climb the tall ladder to reach a yellow platform that will take you to a single root with a hidden gem.
- Bonus Objective: Break all the blocks in the level — just tap all of them that you can find!
- Twisty-Turny Planet
- Super Gem #1: Continue to roll the middle roller to find this gem on a small hill.
- Super Gem #2: Keep rolling the middle roller to eventually uncover this gem on a high blue platform.
- Super Gem #3: Roll the third roller to find a small alcove in the side. Use the side to slide down and find a team of Toads.
- Bonus Objective: The hidden gold mushroom is on the cloud at the bottom of a red pipe, near the green pipe. Ride the center roller down to the lower clouds.
- Ghost Gallery Gambit
- Super Gem #1: You can’t miss it. Use the seesaw to reach it.
- Super Gem #2: When you’re about the same level as the second gem, wait for platforms to fall behind Toad and use them to reach this hard-to-get gem.
- Super Gem #3: Near the end, use the seesaws to reach this super gem.
- Bonus Objective: The gold mushroom is hidden at the end of the platform when the two giant Boos appear, right before the level exit.
- Touchstone Turmoil
- Super Gem #1: On a single corner island on the yellow touch platform. Reach it from the blue touch platform.
- Super Gem #2: Enter the interior alcove near the starting spot to enter the blue platform and access the gem on the raised section of the yellow platform.
- Super Gem #3: Floating in the center of a flying biddybud circle. Raise the blue platform to reach it.
- Bonus Objective: Clear the stage in six touches or less — it’s fairly straightforward. To save some touches, just take a hit from the last line of biddybuds to run through them.
- Color Crate Carousel
- Super Gem #1: Found on the opposite end of the green crate.
- Super Gem #2: Inside the blue crate.
- Super Gem #3: In the center, accessible from the red crate.
- Bonus Objective: The gold mushroom is located in the hollow top, near the yellow and green crates. To reach the exterior, drop down onto the extended balcony in the center from the blue crate, then walk onto the yellow crate area.
- Trick-Track Hall
- Super Gem #1: Floating in the middle-center of the level. Grab a root enemy and throw it at the gem to collect it.
- Super Gem #2: Underneath one of the spikes — the first one. Reach the upper touch platforms to access the area behind the Spike.
- Super Gem #3: Get the key from the single root near the lift leading to the bottom floor with the locked door.
- Bonus Objective: The hidden gold mushroom is located very close to the exit star. Tap the touch platform to lower it and walk onto the optional surface to find the mushroom.
- Deep-Space Gyromajig
- Super Gem #1: On the pale blue floor, behind the raised wall, near the double Bullet Bill cannons.
- Super Gem #2: Falling onto the green floor, grab one of the turnip roots between the two bird enemies and throw the turnip at the floating gem.
- Super Gem #3: Pres the P-Switch near the Pickax power-up and break through the stone blocks leading to the last gem, down the narrow path with two stone blocks.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level without taking any damage.
- Magma Road Marathon
- Super Gem #1: After the first long runway, climb the rocky hill.
- Super Gem #2: On the zig-zagging runway, get on the optional path to the left to reach a clear pipe launcher. Sprint across the yellow platforms to get the gem.
- Super Gem #3: Near the end of the level, get the gem on a small “O” shaped obstacle.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level with 150 coins — to get all the coins, you need to hunt for all the obvious coins. Enter the optional second gem path for even more coins.
- Scalding Scaffold Sinkhole
- Super Gem #1: On a balcony past the second root enemy.
- Super Gem #2: When you reach the complicated area with multiple ladders and ramps, drop down to the lower level to get this gem. Move fast or the lava will catch up to you.
- Super Gem #3: Up the ramps past the previous gem, reach an optional balcony with a single root. Pull it to find a hidden gem.
- Bonus Objective: Collect 200 coins to complete this challenge — you need to sprint up the area and collect as many coin piles as you can. Ignore the enemies and only focus on the coin piles. There’s no trick here. You can skip some of them — as long as you have 180 coins before the exit star. At the top, you can pull the roots to get 20 more coins.
- Wingo’s Whackdown
- Super Gem #1: At the top of the first area, on the platform that slides when pushed by the wind. Wait for Wingo to push it back, then drop down onto the safe spot between the metal spikes.
- Super Gem #2: On the second tower, reach the wheelspin gear. Next to the moving platform, climb the ladder to reach the gem.
- Super Gem #3: Right before the exit, at the top of the tower. Climb up onto the floating platforms — there’s a mushroom near a gem.
- Bonus Objective: Complete the level with 220 coins — this is only tricky because you need to find two gold mushrooms. The first is at the bottom of the first tower. Look in the optional ramp with two small piles of gold coins. The second gold mushroom is located on the second tower, on a balcony that can only be accessed after spinning the gear.
